PVC tape should not be used to protect the surface finish for products supplied to the Nuclear Industry due to the inclusion of chlorides in them. Instead a low density polythene should be applied. Most LDP tapes do have the inclusion of small levels of poly propylene in the material. LDP tapes have a rubber resin which has a majority of natural rubber mixed with some synthetic rubber—full spec sheets are available for the tape of your choosing.
