Keyboard shortcuts allow you to use your keyboard to execute common commands used in Microsoft Word. Using the keyboard shortcuts allows the user to become more efficient because performing keyboard shortcuts only take milliseconds to execute compared with using the mouse which takes at least 1 to 2 seconds to perform. There is no need to memorize keyboard shortcuts. Take the extra effort to repeat the keyboard shortcuts. After a few tries, you will be able to adapt to the shortcut. You can then focus your attention on your work and thoughts rather than get distracted when moving your hand from keyboard to the mouse, and then pointing to the desired button or icon to perform a command.
