BAREBACK RIDING Tim O’CONNELL

1 2 3 4 5 6 7

$$$ = Projected Top 5 Money Winner

$$$

Tim O’Connell has been hot all season long winning 18 rodeos this season including Pendleton OR, Puyallup WA, Fort Worth TX, Dodge City KS, and St. Paul OR. O’Connell has a very aggressive riding style that can sometimes get him in trouble on certain horses. O’Connell knows how to win in Vegas finishing 4th in the world last year. It’s no accident that he’s #1 in the world standings entering the Wrangler NFR.

Hometown: Zwingle, Iowa Key Win: Pendleton, OR WNFR Qualifications: 3

Orin LARSEN

Orin Larsen is making his 2nd trip to the Wrangler NFR with over $138,000 in season earnings so the first year jitters that he may have had last year shouldn’t be a factor. He’s really strong, hard to get on the ground, and doesn’t get out of shape very often so he should stay near the top of the average race from start to finish. If he can win the first go-round, he can close the gap on Tim O’Connell with 9 head left to go.

Hometown: Inglis, Manitoba Key Win: San Antonio, TX WNFR Qualifications: 2

Caleb BENNETT

$$

Caleb Bennett is making his 5th trip to the Wrangler NFR so he has the experience and knows the ins and outs of handling all that goes with being an NFR contestant. He will need to improve on his last 2 NFR performances if he’s going to be worth the $130,000 fantasy salary you’ll give up to get him. With the right draws throughout the week, Bennett could challenge for the World Championship. Expect big things out of Caleb.

Hometown: Tremonton, Utah WNFR Qualifications: 5

Key Win: Ponoka, AB

Tanner AUS

Tanner Aus had a slow start to last year’s NFR but finished off the week a decent showing, placing in 3 of the last 5 rounds and 6th in the average. Aus should place high in several rounds while contending for one of the top spots in the average. He knows what to expect and has the confidence that can make him a valuable pick for your fantasy team.

Hometown: Granite Falls, Minn Key Win: Nampa, ID WNFR Qualifications: 2

R.C. LANDINGHAM

R.C. Landingham is making his first trip to the NFR following 3 seasons where he finished in the top 20 (twice finishing 16th). Landhingham is a long, tall cowboy with a flashy spur stroke that could be a threat to win some go-rounds. If R.C. can keep from making it more than it is and continue riding like he has all season, he will win lots of money in Las Vegas.

Hometown: Hat Creek, Calif - Key Win: Spanish Fork, UT WNFR Qualifications: 1

Winn RATLIFF

$

Winn Ratliff has placed in 5 out of 20 go rounds at the NFR the past 2 years, and would like to improve on last year’s performance where he finished 13th in the average. He’s a little guy and really does well on big, powerful horses which should serve him well in Las Vegas. Ratliff has all the tools to be a World Champion, 2016 could be his year.

Hometown: Leesville, La - Key Win: Salinas, CA WNFR Qualifications: 4

Evan JAYNE

Evan Jayne is a big, strong cowboy that placed in 4 rounds in his first NFR (2015) but failed to place in the average. Jayne hasn’t competed since the All American Finals in October so he should be fresh and healthy when he arrives in Las Vegas. If he can keep from getting banged up in the early go-rounds, Evan Jayne is well worth the $90,000 fantasy salary.

Hometown: Marseille, France - Key Win: Greeley, CO WNFR Qualifications: 2

Clayton BIGLOW

8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15

Clayton Biglow is a young kid from California that has been flashy all year, racking up almost $77,000 this season. He’s the 2016 Resistol Rookie of the Year in the bareback riding and will need to avoid having the rookie nerves when he shows up each night. If he can do what got him to the NFR, he’ll be fine. It’s all the stuff outside the yellow arena that will be his biggest challenge.

Hometown: Clements, Calif - Key Win: Reno, NV WNFR Qualifications: 1

Jake BROWN

Jake Brown was the #1 man in the world and on pace to be the world standings leader coming into the NFR before taking the entire summer off to recover from surgery on the thumb on his riding hand. Brown returned late in the season to win a few rodeos and says the thumb is 100%. He struggled last year at the NFR so he has something to prove so don’t surprised if he’s one of the top 3 money winners.

Hometown: Hillsboro, Texas - Key Win: Denver, CO WNFR Qualifications: 2

Jake VOLD

Jake Vold is one of the taller bareback riders in the field and comes from Canada so he’s used to getting on rank horses. His riding style fits just about all kinds of horses so look for him to be really solid throughout the NFR. Vold placed in 8 go-rounds in 2014 so can obviously get it done in Las Vegas. He could be one of the guys to come from the bottom half of the field to win the World Title.

Hometown: Ponoka, Alberta - Key Win: Austin, TX WNFR Qualifications: 2

J.R. VEZAIN

J.R. Vezain comes into the 2016 NFR with more to prove than anyone else in the bareback riding. In 2014, he rode 9 of 10 horses but failed to pick up a single check for fantasy owners. Don’t look for that to happen again from such a talented cowboy. He’s down the list a ways so he won’t cost you much as far as salary goes. He probably won’t be one of the most picked guys due to his struggles in 2014, which makes him our ‘sleeper’ pick.

Hometown: Cowley, Wyo - Key Win: Eugene, OR WNFR Qualifications: 4

Ty BREUER

Ty Breuer might not be as flashy as some of the guys in the field which makes him less likely to make a mistake that will take him out of the average. He’s stepped his game up since his last NFR in 2013 where he only collected $5,000 for fantasy owners. He’s coming off a win at the Badlands Circuit Finals Rodeo and should be a solid pick down here at the bottom of the list.

Hometown: Mandan, ND - Key Win: Fort Madison, IA WNFR Qualifications: 2

Richmond CHAMPION

Richmond Champion got a late start to the rodeo season missing all the big winter rodeos and was still able to qualify for the NFR. He’s a flashy bareback rider that will be a threat to win any of the 10 go-rounds and as long as he can survive the eliminator pens without too much trouble, he will be in the World Championship race when the 10th go-round comes.

Hometown: The Woodlands, Texas - Key Win: Canby, OR WNFR Qualifications: 2

Jessy Davis

Jessy Davis is the most experienced cowboy of this group but hasn’t been what fantasy owners hoped he would be the last couple of times he’s been to the NFR. Consistency will be the key for Davis and if he can mix in a couple of 1st & 2nd place go-round checks along the way, he could be an asset for your fantasy team. He comes with a $20,000 salary price so you’re definitely getting your money’s worth here.

Hometown: Power, Mont - Key Win: Preston, ID WNFR Qualifications: 7

Wyatt DENNY

Wyatt Denny is a NFR rookie so it remains to be seen how he will handle the pressure and nerves. He’ll probably win more go-round money than average money so fantasy owners will be hoping that he wins more than a few rounds. If Wyatt can pick up a check early in the week, it could be all the confidence he needs to have an amazing 10 days in Las Vegas.

PRO FANTASY RODEO

STEER WRESTLING Ty ERICKSON

1 2 3 4 5 6 7

$$$ = Projected Top 5 Money Winner

$$$

Ty Erickson has been on a roll all year and has been riding Cadillac, the 2016 AQHA Horse of the Year. He’s been to the NFR a couple of times now and has placed on 12 of the 20 steers he’s run inside the Thomas and Mack. A broken barrier in the 6th round may have cost him a chance at the world championship, but he still won over $100,000. Erickson is going to be tough to beat every night and should be a very solid pick for your fantasy team.

Hometown: Helena, Mont - Key Win: Red Bluff, CA WNFR Qualifications: 3

Jason THOMAS

Jason Thomas is making his first appearance at the Wrangler NFR. He won San Antonio and placed 2nd at Fort Worth early in the season and kept that momentum rolling all season to qualify 2nd with $90,636 in earnings. A lot of Jason’s success will be due to the horse he gets to ride there. There is no start faster for steer wrestlers than the one at the NFR so Thomas will have to figure it out in a hurry to avoid playing catch up late.

Hometown: Benton, Ark - Key Win: San Antonio, TX WNFR Qualifications: 1

Tyler WAGUESPACK

$$

Tyler Waguespack is one of the best steer wrestlers in the world. He’s technically correct and if he draws a good one he’ll win first more times than not. He knows how to bulldog fast and he’ll be riding Cadillac so there’s no reason for him not to be in the middle of the World Championship discussion going into the 10th round. At a fantasy salary of $130,000 he’ll need to place in more go-rounds than he did last year.

Hometown: Gonzales, La - Key Win: Spanish Fork, UT WNFR Qualifications: 2

J.D. STRUXNESS

J.D. Struxness will be 22 years old when he arrives in Las Vegas for the Wrangler NFR, but don’t let the youth and inexperience fool you. Struxness won the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo and hasn’t looked back since. The majority of J.D.’s success in Las Vegas will depend on the horse power he has beneath him so it’s hard to say if this is a good pick at $120,000. If he’s mounted right, he could be the cowboy to make your fantasy team a winner.

Hometown: Appleton, Minn - Key Win: Cheyenne, WY WNFR Qualifications: 1

Clayton HASS

$

Clayton Hass will be riding Cadillac again at the NFR and he knows how to be fast and how to win in Las Vegas. A ‘no-time’ in the 4th round cost him a gold buckle a year ago, so don’t look for that to happen again. The steers at the NFR will be good and when you combine that with Hass’ experience and the horse power he’ll have, that bodes well for him to have a very successful National Finals Rodeo.

Hometown: Terrell, Texas - Key Win: Cody, WY WNFR Qualifications: 3

Dakota ELDRIDGE

Dakota Eldridge started the season slow but really came on late in the season. His good horse Rusty had some time off so he should be fresh and healthy when December rolls around, and he’s one of the best horses for the set up inside the Thomas & Mack. Eldridge is technically correct in his style and he’s consistent. He may not throw them all in the short 3 second range, but he’ll make good runs on the steers he draws. He’s the defending NFR Champion.

Hometown: Elko, Nev - Key Win: Puyallup, WA WNFR Qualifications: 4

Josh PEEK

Josh Peek has had a great year and making his 4th appearance in the steer wrestling at the Wrangler NFR, his first since 2010. He’s not the biggest guy in the steer wrestling but he’s aggressive and won’t back down from the situation. Look for Peek to keep pace with the field early in the week then start creeping up the standings as other cowboys go out of the average later in the week.

Jacob TALLEY

8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 15

Jacob Talley is a first time qualifier to the Wrangler NFR and has done a great job of stepping up his game to get to Las Vegas. He’ll be riding the horse that Nick guy rode at the NFR the last 2 years so he should be solid in that department. Just like any first time qualifier, learning to navigate the NFR/Las Vegas landscape outside the arena will be big part of his success.

Hometown: Keatchie, La - Key Win: Dodge City, KS WNFR Qualifications: 1

Nick GUY

Nick Guy is making his 4th trip to the NFR and will be riding a horse he has won quite a bit on at Houston and throughout the season. He’ll be wanting to improve on last year’s NFR where he only placed in 3 go-rounds. If he can get the first 2 or 3 down with no problems and get on a roll early, look for Nick to make some noise in the go-rounds.

Hometown: Sparta, Wis - Key Win: Canby, OR WNFR Qualifications: 4

Baylor ROCHE

Baylor Roche is back for the 2nd year in a row and will be ready to make some serious noise in the World Championship race. He’ll probably be riding the same palomino horse he rode last year. Roche was right in the middle of the average race last year until some bad luck in the 6th and 7th round took him out of contention.

Hometown: Tremonton, Utah - Key Win: Denver, CO WNFR Qualifications: 2

Billy BUGENIG

Billy Bugenig is making his first appearance at the Wrangler NFR since the 2012 season. Bugenig has had success inside the Thomas and Mack Center in the past splitting the average with Dean Gorsuch back in 2010. He also placed in 5 rounds in 2012 making him a quality pick, especially at the fantasy salary of $50,000.

Hometown: Ferndale, Calif - Key Win: Airdrie, AB WNFR Qualifications: 4

Matt REEVES

Matt Reeves placed in 5 rounds and 5th in the average in his last qualification to the Wrangler NFR in 2013. Historically, Reeves has placed in 3 or 4 rounds each time with a go-round win here and there. Reeves took most of the fall off due to injury, and horse power may be a question mark for him this year. It’s hard to imagine that he won’t be back to 100% by December 1st and Matt is a guy that you just expect to win no matter the situation.

Hometown: Cross Plains, Texas - Key Win: Fort Worth, TX WNFR Qualifications: 6

Riley DUVALL

Riley Duvall is another NFR rookie this year but has years of rodeo history on his side. Even if you’ve never heard of Riley, it’s the Duvall name from Checotah Oklahoma that tells you all you need to know. He has hazed for guys the last few years in Vegas so the stage will definitely not be to big for him. He’s very knowledgeable when it comes to how to handle different types of steers so look for him to have more success than most in his first NFR.

Hometown: Checotah, Okla - Key Win: Nampa, ID WNFR Qualifications: 1

Trevor KNOWLES

Trevor Knowles is making his 13th straight appearance at the Wrangler NFR. No other cowboy or cowgirl in Las Vegas is worth their fantasy salary more than Trevor is. He comes in at the bottom of the list but still just 1 go-round win away from moving to the top. A ‘no-time’ in the 7th round took him out of the average last year. He will be one of the most picked cowboys which leaves you with a decision to make. Do you pick him, and keep pace with everyone else? Or pick someone else and hope they out-perform him? It’s a tough choice.

Hometown: Mount Vernon, Ore - Key Win: Canby, OR WNFR Qualifications: 13

Cody CABRAL

Cody Cabral had to hang on for the last month of the season to qualify for his first Wrangler NFR. Cabral will go at every steer with the go-round win on his mind which could cost him when the average is paid out. Not a bad sleeper pick if your fantasy team is low on cash. Plus, how can you not pick a cowboy from Hawaii nicknamed the ‘Flyin’ Hawaiian.’

PRO FANTASY RODEO

TEAM ROPING-HD Kaleb DRIGGERS

1 2 3 4 5 6 7

$$$ = Projected Top 5 Money Winner

$$$

Kaleb Driggers has been hard to beat all season after teaming up with Junior Nogueira. Driggers’ and Nogueira’s styles fit each other really well. They can be really aggressive while also catching a lot of steers. They have been the favorites since mid-summer. The only question is do you pick both cowboys or just one for your fantasy team.

Hometown: Albany, Ga- Key Win: St. Paul, OR WNFR Qualifications: 5

Clay SMITH Clay Smith is back again this year but comes in with a legitimate chance at winning the world championship. He’ll be roping with Paul Eaves and the pair should be really strong in the average. If they can place in 7 or 8 go rounds, they can put some pressure on Driggers and Nogueira for the world title but they can’t let that affect them in the late rounds.

Hometown: Bowie, Texas - Key Win: Fort Worth, TX WNFR Qualifications: 2

Luke BROWN

$$

Luke Brown has been pretty dominant at the NFR the last few years. He’s won the average 2 of the past 3 years and has been solid in the go-rounds. Brown will provide the consistency while Jake Long will provide the aggressiveness to help get them to the pay window. Fantasy owners don’t like surprises and are always looking for the safe pick. Luke Brown is as ‘safe’ as you can get when it comes to roping horns.

Hometown: Stephenville, Texas - Key Win: Cody, WY WNFR Qualifications: 9

Kolton SCHMIDT Kolton Schmidt is making his first appearance at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. He will be roping with Shay Carroll and riding the head horse of the year in Las Vegas which should handle the conditions with ease. If he can keep from getting wide eyed once the bullets start flying in the world championship race, Schmidt and Carroll could have a say so in it.

Dustin BIRD Dustin Bird had an outstanding season after missing the NFR last year. In 2014 & 2013 Bird didn’t deliver for fantasy owners so he will need to improve on that to be valuable in 2016. He will probably be riding Dolly that finished 3rd in the horse of the year voting so horsepower shouldn’t be an issue.

Hometown: Cut Bank, Mont - Key Win: San Antonio, TX WNFR Qualifications: 4

Colby LOVELL

= Dark Horse

$

Colby Lovell has one of the best horses in the field in his trailer and will be shooting for all 10 go-rounds. His name is being thrown around in the world championship discussion so expect him to have something to prove. If he can get them all turned, Travis Graves doesn’t miss much.

Hometown: Madisonville, Texas - Key Win: San Juan Capistrano, CA

WNFR Qualifications: 6

Riley MINOR Riley Minor is making his 7th appearance in Las Vegas so it’s obvious that he has what it takes to win against this field. But Las Vegas hasn’t been too friendly to the Minors the past 2 years. Fantasy owners will want to see him have his best NFR of his career with 7 plus go-round checks and a top 3 finish in the average.

Erich ROGERS

8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15

Erich Rogers keeps improving with each qualification to the NFR and if that trend continues in 2016, Rogers could be very valuable in PFR. Rogers should get them turned fast for Petska and he normally catches 2 feet. This could be the year that they move up and challenge the top of the leaderboard for the gold buckle.

Hometown: Round Rock, AZ - Key Win: Ellensburg, WA WNFR Qualifications: 6

Garrett ROGERS

Garrett Rogers has had a great year to qualify for his first Wrangler NFR. If Rogers tries to get in a gun slinging match with guys like Kaleb Driggers and Colby Lovell, it could work against him as the week progresses. If he can stay consistent and take the 3rd and 4th place checks as they come and stay in the average he could have one of the better NFR’s of all the first time qualifiers.

Hometown: Baker City, Ore - Key Win: Grande Prairie, AB WNFR Qualifications: 1

Zac SMALL

Zac Small is making his first trip and has a first time heeler behind him in Wesley Thorp. Small rides a really nice head horse and that will help keep him consistent. But figuring out the start at the NFR will be a challenge for all the first time guys. There is no start faster and no building smaller all year than what these guys will see in Las Vegas. If they can navigate those conditions, they will be a solid team.

Hometown: Welch, Okla - Key Win: Tucson, AZ WNFR Qualifications: 1

Matt SHERWOOD Matt Sherwood struggled in last year’s Wrangler NFR only cashing 2 go-round checks and finishing last in the average. However, Sherwood has dominated inside the Thomas & Mack in the past so horsepower may be a key factor this year. He has a NFR rookie heeler behind him (Quinn Kesler).

Hometown: Pima, Ariz - Key Win: Spanish Fork, UT (CC) WNFR Qualifications: 5

Cody SNOW

Cody Snow is a NFR rookie but has Dugan Kelly on the heel side for him. He’s the youngest header to qualify for the NFR in a long time so that could be a weakness if the pressure gets to him. Cody ropes his best when he’s aggressive so he will need to be aggressive and take the start each night and not back off at all.

Hometown: Los Olivos, Calif - Key Win: Oakdale, CA WNFR Qualifications: 1

Tyler WADE

Tyler Wade is making his first appearance and will be roping with Dakota Kirchenslager. On paper, this looks like a team that could contend for the NFR average title but like all first time guys, his success will hinge on how he handles the pressure.

Hometown: Terrell, Texas - Key Win: Cheyenne, WY WNFR Qualifications: 1

Levi SIMPSON Levi Simpson is a NFR rookie but could be the most experienced as far as roping in fast set ups. Simpson comes from Canada and has seen these kinds of conditions before so that should help when it comes to handling the left wall that comes awful quick for headers but has never roped in an atmosphere like what is inside the Thomas & Mack.

Hometown: Ponoka, Alberta - Key Win: Moses Lake, WA WNFR Qualifications: 1

Coleman PROCTOR

Coleman Proctor seems to rope good at the NFR and finished 2nd in the average last year so maybe he can keep that momentum going. He’s roping with Billie Jack Saebens who is a first time qualifier so that could potentially be a weakness, but at $10,000 fantasy salary he is definitely worth the money.

PRO FANTASY RODEO

TEAM ROPING-HL

$$$ = Projected Top 5 Money Winner

Junior NOGUEIRA

$$$

1 2 3 4 5 6 7

Junior Nogueira comes in this season with a great chance to win the gold buckle. He has a header in front of him in Kaleb Driggers and both guys have the ‘gun slinger’ style, but are consistent in that style. Nogueira doesn’t miss and almost always catches 2 feet on the corner. This team will be fun to watch in the Thomas & Mack Center.

Hometown: Burleson, Texas - Key Win: St. Paul, OR WNFR Qualifications: 3

Paul EAVES

Paul Eaves has had decent outings in past NFR’s but still hasn’t had the finals that fantasy owners need to win the PFR Truck. The combination of Smith and Eaves has been great all year and should carry them into the winner’s circle many times out at the NFR.

Hometown: Lonedell, Mo - Key Win: Fort Worth, TX WNFR Qualifications: 5

Jake LONG

$$

Jake Long has a legitimate chance to win the world championship roping with Luke Brown. This team has all the tools needed to have a great finals. Brown is consistent and has won the NFR average 3 times in his career, while Long provides the aggressiveness and rarely misses. If this team can get tapped off early in the week, look for them to challenge for the World Championship.

Hometown: Coffeyville, Kan - Key Win: Cody, WY WNFR Qualifications: 6

Russell CARDOZA

Russell Cardoza and Dustin Bird are an interesting pick at the #4 spot. They should be strong in the average but will need to place in 7 or 8 go-rounds to justify this fantasy salary. Cardoza probably won’t be one of the more popular picks which makes his value go up if he does good. The horsepower should be a strength for this team so be ready for some big things out of them.

Hometown: Terrebonne, Ore - Key Win: Livermore, CA WNFR Qualifications: 5

Brady MINOR

Brady Minor has one of the best heel horses alive but inconsistency at the NFR could be a weakness for this team. They’ve had great years and bad years in Las Vegas so fantasy owners will be hoping for one of the great years. The Minors can contend for the gold buckle but will have to find some consistency to make it happen.

Hometown: Ellensburg, Wash - Key Win: Prescott, AZ WNFR Qualifications: 8

Travis GRAVES

$

Travis Graves has a great chance at winning a world championship. He’s roping with Colby Lovell and this duo has been hot this season. Graves might be the heeler that has the best chance to knock off the front runners in this field. It is a very good possibility that the winning PFR team has both Colby Lovell and Travis Graves on their roster.

Hometown: Jay, Okla - Key Win: San Juan Capistrano, CA WNFR Qualifications: 8

Shay CARROLL Shay Carroll is back after missing out on the NFR last year. In 2014 Carroll only placed in 2 rounds so fantasy owners will need more production this time around. He has a NFR rookie on the head side and if his Schmidt can give him 10 clean looks, they could have a great week. Carroll ropes 2 feet a lot so the success will depend on the head side.

Hometown: Prineville, Ore - Key Win: Redding, CA WNFR Qualifications: 2

Cory PETSKA

8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15

Cory Petska is our darkhorse. He and Erich Rogers can come from the bottom half of this field to win the gold buckle but will need to place in more go rounds than they have in the past 3 years to make it happen. Staying in the average will be a key to this team’s success.

Hometown: Marana, Ariz - Key Win: Salinas, CA WNFR Qualifications: 13

Dugan KELLY

Dugan Kelly is back after missing the past 2 seasons. In 2013 he finished 2nd in the average so that will be a plus for fantasy owners if he can repeat that and add a few round wins. Kelley is roping with a NFR rookie in Cody Snow who is one of the youngest headers to qualify for the NFR.

Hometown: Paso Robles, Calif - Key Win: Deadwood, SD WNFR Qualifications: 7

Dakota KIRCHENSCHLAGER

Dakota Kirchenschlager is a cowboy that should be a popular pick in PFR, however, he cut his thumb off back in October while practicing. He’s not the first team roper to come back from such an injury to have success. He had the thumb reattached but that was only about 7 weeks out from the first go round.

Hometown: Morgan Mill, Texas - Key Win: Cheyenne, WY WNFR Qualifications: 3

Jake MINOR

Jake Minor is a first time qualifier to the NFR so he will need to avoid having the typical rookie finals. He has a first time qualifier on the head side so many fantasy owners will be weary of picking Minor. Garrett Rogers and Jake Minor will need to stay in the average and avoid having to get in a gun slinging match with some of the guys at the top of the standings.

Hometown: Ellensburg, Wash - Key Win: Grande Prairie, AB WNFR Qualifications: 1

Jeremy BUHLER Jeremy Buhler comes from Canada so that should be a strength for this team having roped in a lot of fast set ups similar to the one they will see in Las Vegas. Both Buhler and Levi Simpson will have to figure out how to manage their time and stay fresh and focused for all 10 rounds. The demands on the contestants can really wear on the cowboys in the later stages and that will be a factor for these two.

Hometown: Arrowwood, Alberta - Key Win: Moses Lake, WA WNFR Qualifications: 1

Quinn KESLER

Quinn Kesler could have a decent NFR for a first time qualifier being that he is roping with Matt Sherwood. Sherwood has won two PRCA World Championships. Kesler will need to draw on the experience of Sherwood throughout the week to handle the outside distractions. Kesler is one of the most talented guys in the field and could surprise some people if things go their way early.

Hometown: Holden, Utah - Key Win: Spanish Fork, UT (CC) WNFR Qualifications: 1

Billie Jack SAEBENS Billie Jack Saebens will be heeling for Coleman Proctor. Proctor is coming off a strong finish to the season so he should be riding some of that momentum. The Thomas & Mack Center should really fit Saebens’ aggressive style so if these 2 cowboys are on their ‘A’ game, they could be in the running for the average come the 10th round.

Hometown: Nowata, Okla - Key Win: Austin, TX WNFR Qualifications: 1

Wesley THORP Wesley Thorp is roping with Zac Small so there is a lack of experience coming into the Wrangler NFR since both guys are making their first appearance. Small qualified 10th so you will be getting a discount on this team if you pick Thorp. These young guns didn’t qualify by accident so expect some good things out of them. Hopefully their ability will overcome the inexperience.

PRO FANTASY RODEO

SADDLE BRONC RIDING Jacobs CRAWLEY

1 2 3 4 5 6 7

$$$

Jacobs Crawley will try to do exactly what he did last year when he won $167,000 at the Wrangler NFR. He placed in 7 of the first 8 go-rounds then finished off the week by winning the average by 7 points. It was his 2nd NFR Championship in 3 years which makes Crawley a guy you can count on to bring home the bacon for your fantasy team. He’s going to cost a lot, but he will win a lot in return.

Hometown: Boerne, Texas - Key Win: Ponoka, AB WNFR Qualifications: 6

CoBurn BRADSHAW

CoBurn Bradshaw placed in 6 rounds and finished 2nd in the average behind Crawley. He was the only other cowboy to ride all 10 horses last year and will be one of the favorites to ride all 10 again. Bradshaw’s advantage will come when the eliminators and stronger horses are in the chutes. He’s really strong and seems to get along best when the horses are the toughest to ride.

Hometown: Beaver, Utah - Key Win: Kissimmee, FL (CC) WNFR Qualifications: 2

Rusty WRIGHT

$$

Rusty Wright placed in 7 go rounds (won 3) last year in his first NFR qualification. He’s one of the most consistent saddle bronc riders in the field so look for him to be in the middle of the World Championship discussion in the later rounds. Rusty won the championship at 19 rodeos this season including San Angelo Texas, Greeley Colorado, and Salinas California. Look for him to add the NFR to that list.

Hometown: Milford, Utah - Key Win: Salinas, CA WNFR Qualifications: 2

Zeke THURSTON

$

Zeke Thurston has had a very good year to make it to his 2nd Wrangler NFR. He’s riding even better than he did last year when he finished 5th in the NFR average but when you qualify in the top 5, fantasy owners expect several go-round checks along the way. He only placed in 2 rounds last year so he will need to improve on that front for owners to get the full benefit of the $120,000 fantasy salary.

Hometown: Big Valley, Alberta - Key Win: Puyallup, WA WNFR Qualifications: 2

Jake WRIGHT

Jake Wright has been one of the best saddle bronc riders for a while now making his 5th appearance at the Wrangler NFR. Jake’s performance at last year’s NFR was a bit off from what he had turned in the 2 years previous. Look for Jake to bounce back this year and have an outstanding 10 days in Las Vegas.

Hometown: Milford, Utah - Key Win: Fort Worth, TX WNFR Qualifications: 5

Heith DEMOSS

Heith DeMoss brings an exciting ‘all or nothing’ style to the table which usually translates to fantasy owners as well. The winning fantasy team will need all or most of the contestants to be near the top of the average, but Heith hasn’t placed in the average the last 2 years. If he can place 4th or better and continue what he has done in the go-rounds it would be worth the price at $100,000.

Hometown: Heflin, La - Key Win: Reno, NV WNFR Qualifications: 8

Cody DEMOSS

Cody DeMoss is due to have a big Wrangler NFR. He placed in 7 rounds a year ago but 1 hole out of the average and 2014 was a disappointment. In 2012 he rode all 10 broncs and won the average but narrowly missed out on the World Championship ($797). This could be the year that he comes through and puts up big numbers again for fantasy owners.

Clay ELLIOTT

8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15

Clay Elliott is a NFR rookie and will be a name rodeo fans will be hearing for years to come. He has one of the best mark outs going and starting horses right at the NFR is one of the most important elements to the ride. There won’t be a horse in the draw that he can’t ride but the question will be how he handles the big stage.

Hometown: Nanton, Alberta - Key Win: Canby, OR WNFR Qualifications: 1

Allen BOORE Allen Boore is another first time qualifier in the saddle bronc riding. He’s a little guy and sets his feet really hard in the neck which helps horses want to buck harder. He can take a horse that some guys have a hard time placing on and can turn in a high marked ride on that same horse.

Hometown: Axtell, Utah - Key Win: Oakley City, UT WNFR Qualifications: 1

Jesse WRIGHT

Jesse Wright is a bargain this far down the list. Fantasy owners will be hoping he turns in a performance like he did in 2012 when he won 3 rounds, placed in 4 more, and won the average. He might have too many family members competing against him to pull off that feat, but nonetheless he’ll be a solid pick in the #10 spot in the world standings.

Hometown: Milford, UT - Key Win: Pendleton, OR WNFR Qualifications: 6

Cody WRIGHT

Cody Wright is making his 1st appearance back to the Wrangler NFR after qualifying for 12 straight (2003-2014). He’s probably been on most of the horses in the draw so nothing should come as a surprise to him once the horses are loaded. He’s a proven winner and a past champion of the NFR so there aren’t any drawbacks to having Cody on your fantasy roster.

Hometown: Milford, UT - Key Win: San Juan Capistrano, CA WNFR Qualifications: 13

Sterling CRAWLEY

Sterling Crawley is long legged guy that goes at every horse with 110% effort. Some of his rides are a little on the wild side which makes for some good watching. Nobody will have more fun in Las Vegas than Sterling, but don’t think for one second that he’s not all business when the broncs are loaded. He struggled in his first qualification 3 years ago but will be much more prepared this time around.

Hometown: Stephenville, Texas - Key Win: Spanish Fork, UT WNFR Qualifications: 3

Chuck SCHMIDT

Chuck Schmidt will want to improve on last year’s NFR where he placed in 2 go rounds and 8th in the average. He rides every horse really solid and correct and he’s a guy that many bronc riders want to emulate when it comes to riding style. Whether or not that will translate in to fantasy dollars for your team is yet to be determined but Schmidt definitely has the talent to get the job done.

Hometown: Keldron, SD - Key Win: Sisters, OR WNFR Qualifications: 3

Ryder WRIGHT

Ryder Wright has the 2016 Resistol Rookie of the Year Award in the bag before he ever gets to Las Vegas. Now he’ll be wanting to prove to his dad, brother, and uncles that he can ride with them on the biggest of stages. He did it all season so there’s no reason that trend can’t continue. He’s going to be as solid as they come and the price is right at $20,000.

Hometown: Milford, UT - Key Win: Guymon, OK WNFR Qualifications: 1

Jake WATSON Jake Watson beat all of these guys in the lineup back at San Antonio with many of these same horses in the draw. That obviously doesn’t mean he’s guaranteed to do it again but it should give him a little confidence heading to his 1st NFR.

TIE-DOWN ROPING

$$$ = Projected Top 5 Money Winner

Marcos COSTA

1 2 3 4 5 6 7

Marcos Costa didn’t waste any time moving into the upper etsulan of the PRCA Tie-Down roping roster. Costa placed in 3 rounds in his first NFR last year but has stepped it up a notch in 2016. Not much gets to this young Brazilian cowboy. He can tie them fast when he needs to and he knows how and when to back off and stay in the average.

Hometown: Childress, Texas - Key Win: Austin, TX WNFR Qualifications: 2

Timber MOORE

$$$

Timber Moore might be the happiest cowboy to see the Wrangler NFR begin this year so he erase last year’s NFR that saw him come into the finals ranked 2nd only to take a ‘no-time’ in the 2nd round. It would be hard to imagine the same thing happening 2 years in a row so look for him to embrace the chance he has a being a World Champion. He’s roped good all year and will be riding one of the top horses in the field.

Hometown: Aubrey, Texas - Key Win: Greeley, CO WNFR Qualifications: 5

Hunter HERRIN

Hunter Herrin is back at the Wrangler NFR for the 9th time and is always good for a go-round win or 2, but fantasy owners will want more for their $130,000 fantasy value if they draft Hunter. He’s obviously one of the best tie-down ropers in the world but it hasn’t translated into fantasy value for owners the past few years. He’s too good to ignore but horsepower may be a question mark.

Hometown: Apache, Okla - Key Win: San Antonio, TX WNFR Qualifications: 9

Cory SOLOMON

$

Cory Solomon has really turned it up this fall and ended the year on a big win at the Wrangler Champions Challenge in Pasadena Texas. He’ll be riding a horse that fits the set up at the Thomas & Mack and can rope and tie with any of them. He’s not the biggest or strongest cowboy in the tie-down roping at 5-7, 155 lbs. so his overall success will depend on how he handles the bigger, stronger calves in the draw.

Hometown: Prairie View, Texas - Key Win: San Juan Capistrano, CA WNFR Qualifications: 4

Shane HANCHEY

$$

Shane Hanchey will be a contender from start to finish. Reata will be fresh and 100% healthy so that will be his #1 mount. That horse seems to fit the conditions in Las Vegas and Shane wouldn’t want to ride anything else when the gold buckle is on the line. Shane will win a few go-rounds and will place deep in several more. If he’s in the average race, he’ll have a chance to win $200,000.

Hometown: Sulphur, La - Key Win: Ponoka, AB WNFR Qualifications: 7

Cade SWOR

Cade Swor is one of the more versatile ropers in the field. He can rope and tie them fast when the situation calls for it and he can handle the stronger end of the herd and still place with the help of his horse Floyd Money. Swor will quietly stay in the hunt for the world championship throughout the week and should be worth the $100,000 fantasy salary.

Hometown: Winnie, Texas - Key Win: Lawton, OK WNFR Qualifications: 6

Reese RIEMER

Reese Riemer is glad to be back at the Wrangler NFR so he can improve on his 2014 performance where he placed in only 1 go-round. We can chalk that up to it being his first appearance but fantasy owners will want a lot more for their money this year.

Caleb SMIDT

8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15

Caleb Smidt is the reigning world champion so there is no question that he has the talent and can handle the NFR pressure. He placed in 8 go-rounds and won the average a year ago which will be hard to duplicate in back to back seasons. But if he did it once, he can do it again. You are getting the high money winner from last year at a discount… but so is everyone else.

Hometown: Bellville, Texas - Key Win: San Angelo, TX WNFR Qualifications: 3

Riley PRUITT

Riley Pruitt is a first time qualifier so he’ll have to figure out the start and how to manage all the obligations that go with being an NFR contestant. His dad is a past world champion and he can rely on him to gain an edge on the competition when it comes down to the world championship. Riley will be a double edged sword when it comes to fantasy teams. He’ll be a threat to win some go-rounds but could also miss a few in his efforts.

Hometown: Gering, Neb - Key Win: Denver, CO WNFR Qualifications: 1

Ryan JARRETT

Ryan Jarrett won’t be packing his rope down the arena when the chute gate opens. He’ll be coming with the heat all 10 rounds which could add up to be a big finals or a really big finals. Ryan will probably tie a few in the 6 second range but could get into some trouble if everything doesn’t go smooth across the barrier line. He’ll be a threat to set a new 10 head average record.

Hometown: Comanche, Okla - Key Win: Tucson, AZ WNFR Qualifications: 10

Matt SHIOZAWA

Matt Shiozawa is a past champion of the NFR. He’s been there plenty of times and has placed 3rd in the average the past 2 years. Shiozawa is the dark horse of the tiedown roping. He can rope and handle all types of cattle and nothing seems to phase him. He’ll be a threat in the go-rounds and in the average.

Hometown: Chubbuck, Idaho - Key Win: Walla Walla, WA WNFR Qualifications: 9

Blane COX

Blane Cox is another newcomer to the Wrangler NFR. His success will depend on what horse he rides. He can tie calves really fast so he’ll need something that will work when he ignites the atmosphere inside the arena. If his horse power is where it needs to be he could have a say so in how everything shakes out.

Hometown: Cameron, Texas - Key Win: Weatherford, TX WNFR Qualifications: 1

Ryle SMITH

Ryle Smith is another NFR rookie that will be pretty solid all week. He’ll need to catch a few breaks early in the week to get the ball rolling and if he can do that, fantasy owners will be pleased with this pick. He probably won’t be picked a whole lot with the next 2 guys having been there and will cost less than the $30,000 Smith requires.

Hometown: Oakdale, Calif - Key Win: Fort Worth, TX WNFR Qualifications: 1

Tyson DURFEY

Tyson Durfey snuck into the tie-down roping field on the final weekend of the season. He will probably ride the horse he calls Nikko, but will have a capable backup or 2 handy. Tyson was flagged out on the jerk down rule in the first round and went on to miss a few more. The gold buckle is all Tyson has left to win and he will be in hot pursuit come December 1.

Hometown: Weatherford, Texas - Key Win: Pasadena, TX WNFR Qualifications: 9

Marty YATES

Marty Yates commands the same attention when he backs in the box that Cody Ohl always did. Marty can tie several in the 6 second range and if he can get out of the barrier clean and catch them all in 2 swings he will be hard to beat. Yates probably won’t go over half way down the arena on any of his calves.

Michele McLEOD Michele qualified for her 4th WNFR on multiple horses. Look for her to start round 1 and finish round 10, however, on the popular, black stallion, Slick By Design. He is fresh and has already put them on the scoreboard for 2017. She has the momentum and experience and Slick proved how well he loves the set up in the Thomas and Mack last year. She will be a round contender every night and is a steal at $70,000.

Cayla MELBY

Cayla Melby has not only qualified for her 1st WNFR, but she also qualified for the Canadian National Finals and will be crowned your 2016 Rookie of the Year, oh and she managed to plan a wedding in there as well, she is also a newlywed. This young, Oklahoma Cowgirl comes by her hard work and riding abilities honestly. Her Mother, Jane Melby is also a WNFR and CFR Qualifier. Don’t count her out due to inexperience and nerves, she will be well mounted and Mom will be by her side coaching her to the pay window each night.

World Champion, Sherry Cervi is back for her 19th WNFR! That is 9 more Qualifications than any other Barrel Racer for 2016. Look for her to be mounted on Stingray and Arson this December. She has ridden both horses all Season. Stingray boasts a Gold Buckle for her and Arson ran the fastest time of the entire WNFR last year. To say she is mounted seems like an understatement. She is a Pro Fantasy Fan Favorite not matter how much she costs, but with a price tag of $40,000 we imagine she will set a record as most picked as well. Plan on seeing her name on the payout every round.

Jana Bean is an incredible buy at just $20,000. This is her 3rd WNFR Qualification and she will have 2 horses to pick from. She won round 9 in the 2015 WNFR with a 13.71 and won over $40,000 in 10 days. She is cool under pressure, experienced and has nothing to lose going for round wins. The Texas Cowgirl is a very solid pick.

PRO FANTASY RODEO

BULL RIDING

Sage KIMZEY

1 2 3 4 5 6 7

$$$ = Projected Top 5 Money Winner $$$

Sage Kimzey has been a big part of fantasy teams the past 2 seasons placing in 75% of the go rounds and placing 1st (2014) and 2nd (2015) in the average with earnings of over $150,000 each year. He’ll be one of the favorites to ride all 10 bulls and will be one of the top 5 money winners overall. Look for Kimzey to have his best year yet in Las Vegas. There’s a good chance he’ll be on the winning PFR team.

Hometown: Strong City, Okla - Key Win: San Antonio, TX WNFR Qualifications: 3

Joe FROST

$$

Joe Frost isn’t the flashiest bull rider in the field but does have one of the highest riding percentages. He’s placed high in the average in both of his NFR qualifications which will be good for fantasy owners. He’ll need to place in more than half of the go-rounds to make it worth the $140,000 fantasy salary required to have him on your team. If he can do that, look for Frost to keep your team in contention.

Hometown: Randlett, Utah - Key Win: Rapid City, SD (CC) WNFR Qualifications: 3

Jeff ASKEY

Jeff Askey is making his first appearance at the Wrangler NFR so that will keep some people from picking him. Askey won 2 Champions Challenges and the Justin Boots Playoffs in Puyallup Washington so it’s no accident that he’s ranked 3rd in the world. He’ll need to be able to translate that success into qualified rides in Las Vegas to be a viable choice in this field of bull riders.

Hometown: Athens, Texas - Key Win: Puyallup, WA WNFR Qualifications: 1

Jordan SPEARS

Jordan Spears is back after missing a couple of years. Spears only placed in 3 rounds and failed to pick up an average check back in 2013 so look for him to have a better NFR and improve on his prior performance. He’s had his best season in the PRCA so you’ll have to think he will carry that confidence with him into Las Vegas.

Hometown: Redding, Calif - Key Win: Montgomery, AL WNFR Qualifications: 2

Brennon ELDRED

Brennon Eldred has been one of the hottest bull riders the past 2 seasons but has had some tough luck at the NFR. With only 2 go-round checks to his credit, many fantasy owners will probably pass on him and go with someone that has a more proven track record or that doesn’t cost as much. If Eldred can do in Vegas what he does in the regular season, he could be the MVP of PFR.

Hometown: Sulphur, Okla - Key Win: Reno, NV Xtreme Bulls WNFR Qualifications: 3

Cody TEEL

$

Cody Teel is a proven winner in Las Vegas placing in 8 rounds and winning the average there a year ago. Teel will only cost $100,000 in fantasy salary so that is a discount if he lives up to his past. Teel will be in the top 3 as far as number of bulls ridden at the NFR. He will probably ride 8 or 9 and be in contention for the average and the world championship in the later rounds.

Hometown: Kountze, Texas - Key Win: Ponoka, AB WNFR Qualifications: 5

Roscoe JARBOE

Roscoe Jarboe has proven he can ride with the big boys when he won the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo this summer. Jarboe could be a guy that can come from nowhere to contend for the gold buckle. He’ll need to get off to a solid start in the first few gorounds to gain the confidence to carry him the rest of the week. Roscoe Jarboe isn’t a one and done guy. Rodeo fans will be hearing this name for years to come.

Rorey MAIER

8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15

Rorey Maier is another cowboy making his first appearance at the NFR. The key for Maier will be staying calm and loose throughout the 10 days and taking it one bull at a time. If he can do that and ride like he did when he won the XBulls Finale in Ellensburg this Fall he will be fine.

Hometown: Timber Lake, SD - Key Win: Xtreme Bulls Tour Finale WNFR Qualifications: 1

Scottie KNAPP Scottie Knapp is one of the best bull riders in the group of first time qualifiers. He has a style that can really light up the scoreboard and can ride the rank bulls. Knapp will win some go-rounds and should place in the average. Being this far down the list will make him a reasonable choice. He will add value and let you spend the extra salary in other events.

Hometown: Albuquerque, NM - Key Win: Dodge City, KS WNFR Qualifications: 1

Garrett SMITH

Garrett Smith knows what to expect when the bright lights come on inside the Thomas & Mack Center. He’s a first time qualifier but has hazed for his brother in the steer wrestling a few years ago. Of all the NFR rookies, Smith is the one that should be the least affected by the atmosphere and pressure.

Hometown: Rexburg, Idaho - Key Win: St. Paul, OR WNFR Qualifications: 1

Cody ROSTOCKYJ

Cody Rostockyj won some of the biggest rodeos of the year in Cody Wyoming, Lovington New Mexico, and Pecos Texas. Rostockyj will be a threat to win some go-rounds and if he can ride 70% at the NFR he will have a chance to pick up a big average check.

Hometown: Lorena, Texas - Key Win: Cody, WY WNFR Qualifications: 1

Garrett TRIBBLE

Garrett Tribble is the final 1st time qualifier in the bull riding and like all the others, he will need to have a solid start in the early go rounds. He will only command a $40,000 fantasy salary, but with the next 3 guys having been to the NFR before, he probably won’t be one of the more popular picks. If he can put together a good showing, that will be good for your fantasy team.

Hometown: Bristow, Okla - Key Win: Cody, WY Xtreme Bulls WNFR Qualifications: 1

Tim BINGHAM Tim Bingham is making his 2nd appearance at the NFR after missing out last year. Fantasy owners will be hoping he improves on his 2014 NFR when he placed in only 2 rounds and 12th in the average. Bingham should be fresh and healthy entering the finals so there’s no reason he won’t be on top of his game.

Hometown: Honeyville, Utah- Key Win: San Juan Capistrano, CA WNFR Qualifications: 2

Tyler SMITH Tyler Smith is back at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo following a solid regular season. In the past, Smith has placed in 4 go-rounds each of his 2 qualifications, but fantasy owners will want that to be closer to 8 rounds to help win the PFR Truck.

Hometown: Fruita, Colo - Key Win: Nampa, ID WNFR Qualifications: 4

Shane PROCTOR

Shane Proctor might be the most picked cowboy in 2016. There won’t be a bull in Las Vegas that he can’t ride and he knows how to win at the NFR. Nothing seems to faze Proctor at this point in his career so there will be no pressure for him, especially coming in 15th in the world standings. Proctor will be on a mission to claim another World Championship.
