Your cycling prowess will be put to the test at the everpopular Time Megeve Mont Blanc Cyclosportive. This ! cycling event attracts over 3,000 riders and 2014 will be the th 11 edition. In both 2012 and 2013 we even had some of ! the procyclingtours team take home trophies and others personal bests. For those not riding the picturesque town of Megeve ! has much to offer. This fabulous holiday is full of excitement and challenge ! while balanced with luxurious accommodation, superb cuisine, all while relaxing and immersing yourself in the French !way of life. 30 minutes from Geneva and sitting directly on the shores of Lake Lehman (Lake Geneva), is the little ! Sciez and the perfect location for the start of our tour. On arrival into Geneva, you will be town of collected by procyclingtours staff and be taken the short distance to our amazing accommodation in a 12!th century Château. We will also return to this ‘humble’ abode at the conclusion of our tour. After we ! have assisted with setting up your bike or hire bike, we will blow out the cobwebs with a leisurely ride along this beautiful lake, taking in some picturesque medieval and quaint towns along the way, followed by a little climb that takes in some magnificent views of the region. At days end we ! will dine in style in the Château where your meals will be prepared by top chef Marina Laden (3 hats in Guide Gault Millau). RIDE TIME up to 2hrs

Today! we leave the shores of Lake Geneva and ride to the world’s most famous and beautiful lake located in the French Alpes, Lake Annecy. Well known for being the cleanest lake in Europe, our 4 ! star accommodation is right on the foreshore, with only a bike path separating the hotel from the water’s edge. For those more adventurous, it’s a 100km ride taking in the smaller cols of region as we ride some of the most beautiful back-roads over the Col du Saxel, Route des Verdes, Route de ! Thorens, Col des Fleuries. Others may choose to start the ride in Bonneville after a relaxing morning tea in the old square before climbing the Fleuries. The highlight of the ride being the stunning ! descent onto Lake Annecy, where you will have to look twice to believe the brilliant blue colour of the lake is real. A wonderful dinner tonight created by one of the top Maîtres Cuisiniers de France.

Today we will ride a little known col with some 34 switchbacks and indeed it was a tour highlight for many !clients in 2013 and very much so the favourite day of our non riding guests. We first ride along the lake on a converted bike path (once a railway line) and enjoy pristine lake views. That said, the views riding up the l’Arpetaz are even more astounding and can't even begin to be taken in without ! stopping. But as spectacular as they are, the best are still to come.

This morning we have something special planned, being perfectly situated to climb Le Semnoz, as featured ! on the deciding stage of the 2013 our de France. A very solid climb but with views of the entire Lake and the length of the French Alpes as the backdrop, you’ll be glad you made the effort! We will end the ride with a fantastic loop of the entire lake.
Today is also an opportunity to really enjoy a wonderful rest day, taking in the sights of Annecy and ! it’s surrounds. Considered one of the prettiest villages in France, Annecy is lined with wonderful shops, cafes & restaurants and indeed canals that meander through the old town. You may decide to hire! a motor-boat or paddle-boat for those that want to loosen up the legs, and take in the surrounds from the lake itself. Make sure you have plenty of memory on your camera, you’ll need it today.

With the Time Megeve Cyclosportive tomorrow, today we have something very special to offer as an option….a well-deserved rest day with a ride on the Mont Blanc Cable Car. Being so close to the base !of Mont Blanc, this is a unique opportunity to rise to Aguille to Midi (3800) then the option to take the highest cable car in the world gliding over the Mont Blanc Massif. An unforgettable adventure. After spending some time wandering the streets of the charming town of Chamonix ! where there is much to see and do (including a few very popular bike shops), be taken to the 4 star chalet in Megeve which we will enjoy relaxing in for the next 2 nights.
Later this afternoon, we’ll collect our ‘race’ numbers and walk around the sponsor stands and start ! a little excited about tomorrow’s ride! Tonight we’ll enjoy a dinner fit for a king in preparation getting for tomorrow’s ride. REST DAY !

Frances biggest cycling events, the Time Megeve Cyclosportive. The beauty of this event allows you to choose the ! you want to race en route. We will explain this and the day in more detail leading up to the distance event. With over 3000 participants you will feel like you are racing one of the classic TDF stages riding over the ! likes of the Col du Saises, Aravis and Roseland. Last year’s clients saying this day has been the most memorable day on a bike! For those not riding, you have the option to be driven the short distance ! to Albertville to watch the opening stage of the Criterium du Dauphine, before returning in time to cheer the others on over the finish line. Today we have dedicated to watch the thrills of the Criterium du Dauphine as it meanders through ! Alpes. Depending on the final race route for today’s stage, and depending on how your the French legs are feeling, the opportunity exists to climb one of the most iconic climbs of the French Alpes in the Col!de la Madeleine. Rising up to 2000m over it’s 25km length and an average of 6.5% it’s tougher than the numbers suggest. A traditional pastry at the summit and some time relaxing and taking the incredible ! alpine views, those not riding today are going to love spending time in the heart of the Alpes. For those that just can’t get enough there’s the chance to climb another TDF climb in the Col du Grand Cucheron that will be sure to cap off a truly memorable day. Our funky 4 star hotel in ! Chambery will be the perfect spot to rest those weary legs.

Our final day on the bike and some may say we’ve saved the best ‘till last. Who can forget those ! incredible helicopter images from the 2012 our de France as the peloton climbed the Col du Grand Colombier for the first time in it’s history. With it’s serpentine like switchbacks, enjoy time perched on a rock to !just soak up the incredible scenery and reflect on what a ride it has been over the last week. One last! thrilling descent to the charming riverside village of Seyssel for a lazy lunch before the short transfer back to our Chateau on Lake Geneva. Tonight we will enjoy a wonderful farewell dinner in the old dining room and share some fond memories and laughs from the tour that was.
