2. Preparation: a) Lock parking brake to ensure vehicle does not shift while installing your Side Skids. b) Remove plastic cover from side of vehicle, removing 6 plastic retaining clips. Save clips for reassembly.
Skids plates should be oriented with chevrons pointing forward and the 45 degree bends to the outside.
3. Installation: (Left side is same procedure as right side) a) Position skid plate so the rear mounting lip is over the inner fender liner of rear wheel wells. Keep skid plate supported while working. b) Install (2) Item #3 Bolts with (2) Item #2 washers from underside as shown. Use (2) Item #4 nts and (2) Item #2 washers from inside to install these fasteners. Do not fully tighten yet.
The forward and rear mounts will need to have holes drilled into the frame using the supplied Item #5 Screws (or #7, depending on model year). Make sure skid plate is positioned correctly and install self-tapping screws through holes in skid plate and into the frame structure behind. Rear mounts should pass through plastic liner and into frame member behind. Once screw begins to thread into the frame, tighten to 5.8 ft. lb. with a torque wrench.
Tighten Nylock Nuts to 13 ft. lb. If any vibration occurs, use Item #6 strips between skid plate and frame in various places where frame to skid contact occurs.
Check all fasteners and re-torque when required.
5. Care and Cleaning:
Clean using a soft cloth with soap and water.
