Sailing
Formed in 1968, the Barbados Sailing Association (BSA) is the governing body of sailing in Barbados and seeks to promote, govern and lead the sport of sailing. The BSA is also an affiliate of the Caribbean Sailing Association, the International Laser Class Association, as well as World Sailing. In 2016, the BSA hosted a Dinghy Regatta on 20th November as part of the Independence Beach Games at Pirate’s Cove.

Amy Cox (MVP Female) Amy Cox began sailing at age seven and has represented Barbados in the past two Central American and Caribbean Games, as well as competed in the under 21 World Championships in France, in seven Caribbean Dinghy Championships (placing in four of them), and won the 2014 Caribbean Laser Mid-Winter Regatta. She continues sailing in both the Laser Class and the J24 Class.
Jason Tindale (MVP Male) By age 14, Jason Tindale had already competed in three World Championships, placing 3rd in the coastal series in Ecuador in the Optimist dinghy. He went on to compete in the Laser and won the Caribbean Dinghy Championships in 2011 and 2012, as well as represented Barbados in two Central American and Caribbean Games, placed 4th in the Laser Mid-Winter Regatta in the Dominican Republic and competed in the GP14 2015 World Championships in Barbados. Jason continues to compete in the Laser Class, the GP14 Class, and the J24 Class.
