Being a self-motivated individual, the need to explore the communications sector further had led to the inspiration to search for a work placement in a well-established company within this industry. Atlas Copco marketing communications, involved working within the office based team, sorting customer data and communicating with existing and prospective customers. Involved in the organisation and running of PR event for the release of new series of children’s TV show ‘Lazy Town’. Involved ordering props and gifts for children attending, communicating with the correct audience of bloggers and sending news releases to these. Also involved participating in ensuring the event ran smoothly on the day. ITV PR ‘This Morning’ TV interview, again with Casualty actor. Duties included communicating with the actor, presenters and PR team to ensure the correct messages were to be portrayed within the interview. ITV PR for Casualty TV programme. Involved in photo shoot organisation, and interview for Sunday times magazine with casualty actor.
I have always possessed a strong work ethic which led me to begin my first job at the age of 14. The entirety of my working life has been involved within the customer service sector ranging from being a waitress in restaurants and also at McDonalds, to a dance school and hotel receptionist. Skills that I gained from these work placements will be carried into my future career in Public relations and Communications as well as my dedication and willingness to work in any given environment. Most recent employment history includes; The Boat, Fullers Pub restaurant. This role demanded high standards of customer service which has led to me being a confident speaker to groups of large people as well as individuals. In a team of around 10 people working together each day, communication was vital in order in running efficiently, this has taught me the importance and vitality of communicational skills. I was regularly handling payments and cashing up tills, showing I was well trusted within the company by both team members and managers. The need to regularly organise party’s and dinners for customers has given me event management skills and the professionalism to perfect every detail the customer has requested , skills that shall be carried into future employment.
