Greetings! I am grateful to be one of the experts in the launch of “The Connector”. I have been serving the financial needs of Tidewater since 1976. I began my work as a Medicare Specialist Agent in 2005 when the expanded benefits to Medicare beneficiaries were approved. Since then, I have been blessed to serve over two thousand in my hometown community in determining which Medicare plan would best meet their needs.

I begin my complimentary consultations with a very beneficial cost benefit analysis using the Medicare Options pages from the Medicare & You book. I have found that most folks that I have worked with over the last seventeen years do not understand Medicare like they deserve to do. Most individuals have worked for forty or more years, paying into Medicare Part A with each paycheck. Once you go on Medicare Part B typically at age 65 or retirement you will pay a monthly premium for the remainder of your life. My conviction is you deserve to know what you have been paying for most as well as the remainder of your life.

The Medicare Options pages provides a highlight of the two basic options for a Medicare beneficiary. Medicare Part A & B; Medicare Part D: and a Medicare Supplement or Medigap plan or a Medicare Advantage plan which combines Medicare A; B & D + Extra benefits into an all-in-one plan – Medicare Part C. The second page does a very helpful job of explaining the highlights and the risk reward relationship between the two options. After going through this process and comparing the options to any current coverage available the Medicare beneficiary is much more prepared to make an informed decision as to which option, and then which Medicare plan will best serve their needs.
