Fall 2013 Celebrating 105 Years Serving Youth
Greetings to All
Our last Outlook was distributed in the Fall, 2012. Since then, we have smoothly transitioned from a support organization of Princeton University to an independent public charity, thanks to the thoughtful, comprehensive and strategic work of our transition team, headed by Transition Director Isabel Zisk and Interim Executive Director Katherine Carmichael. They are owed gratitude and thanks. Leading up to the transition and beyond it, we have seen a dynamism unprecedented in recent PBC history. So much positive energy has produced so much positive change. Now, we are not waiting to exhale. There isn’t time, because we have immediately taken the next breath of life for a public service organization which, in some vital ways, has remained unchanged since 1908, yet is being reinvented again in 2013. On that point, I am pleased to report that the Board of Trustees voted unanimously to appoint Pam Gregory as Executive Director of PBC effective December 2nd. Pam brings to us a wealth of experience in social-emotional learning and experiential education, having served as both the Program Director and the Executive Director of Trail Blazers, one of the oldest continuously operating programs in the U.S. for at-risk youth. She brings extensive experience in strategic planning, board development, all aspects of fundraising and marketing/public affairs from a variety of progressively larger roles at Girls Quest, Inwood House and as Cirque du Soleil’s Director of Global Citizenship, US. Pam holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Education from Goddard College and completed the Executive Level Program at Columbia Business School’s Institute for Non Profit Management.

Read this newsletter and realize what change has wrought for PBC and what change we can catalyze for those we serve. Reflect on the resourcefulness and commitment of our staff and the promise this holds for the future of PBC. May it also increase the promise for all participants we encounter. Help us by contributing some of your selves,
your ideas or in whatever way you can, including introducing us to others so we can grow the PBC family. With kind regards, thanks for your support and best wishes from us all this holiday season,
Mark L. Antin, Esq. President, PBC Board of Trustees 1
