How do I register to vote?

Make your vote count

To vote in the elections in May you should register as soon as you can. The deadline is 14 April 2011. You are not automatically registered just because you pay council tax.

Most local councils have staff updating the electoral register, so either: • respond to the letter every household will receive from your local council about updating the electoral register • contact your local council to update your details or • log onto aboutmyvote.co.uk for more information on how you register to vote

By voting and getting involved in our Make Your Vote Count campaign PCS members can challenge candidates and find out if they’ll support our campaign for an alternative to the government’s cuts, and for the defence of jobs, pensions, pay and quality public services.
