The Thought We are surrounded with opportunities and a great University, at the same time there is a lot of competition in the real world. !

The Script What does it take to get started on an idea? Brilliant thoughts flow through the mind, but become trapped by an inner struggle. It’s laziness and self-doubt that are the evils of the world – forcing the idea into submission. How do we start the foundation for innovation? Is it passion? Dedication? Or a driving force that gets the idea out there? We need to set our minds free, to continuously push ourselves to create.

! We are the ball and chain imprisoning our thoughts; we are the gatekeepers guarding our potential. Who will stand above all, letting their genius show? The productive mind is the brilliant mind: one that works towards forming concepts into reality.

! We must imagine, we must self-inspire, we must do it now.

The Idea We asked University of Oregon students

What did you do today that you're proud of? ! !

What was something you didn't do today? !

Our goal is to see what types of goals people had, and also by thinking about what goals were’t achieved would help people want to start them now.


Idea Creation Process 1) Story boarded shots of Eugene/ Portland 2) Wrote the script 3) Did the voice over 4) Filmed on location 5) Photoshot visual effects 6) Audio/ Video Editing 7) Final version of the productivity video

1) Asked the first 25 people productivity questions in person. 2) Created a survey money to answer the same questions. 3) Received over 100 responses 4) Categorized the responses into corresponding themes 5) Created a data visualization to represent the most important themes that motivated people on a daily basis.


The Research Students with high peer orientation were significantly more motivated to learn than were students with low peer orientation.

The Conclusion If we inspire one person to start their goals or be productive our job is complete. !

Surrounding yourself with hard working, inspired individuals is the key to accomplishing goals.


Be the Top 10% Whatever you put into it, is what you will get out of it. Hard work and perseverance beats luck. Curiosity outweighs fear. Surround yourself with the best. Where we are, shapes who we are. BE THE CAPTAIN OF YOUR SHIP.
