Trainee Civil Engineering Technician Opportunities Cable Stay Bridge Team The Forth Crossing Bridge Constructors consortium (FCBC), comprising HOCHTIEF Solutions, American Bridge International, DRAGADOS and Morrison Construction, have been appointed to design and construct a new cable stayed bridge over the Firth of Forth, together with new road connections both north and south of the estuary. We have requirements for the following positions within the Cable Stay Bridge Team. The duties will include:
Assisting the co-ordination of international steel fabrication companies. Assisting with the creation of work procedures for multiple heavy lifts in excess of 900 ton using some of Europe’s largest plant and equipment. Calculating Centre’s of Gravity for irregular lifts. Assisting with the administrative tools for predicting, monitoring and tracking site production welding. Assisting with the procurement of outstanding permanent and temporary works. Compiling document control records to gain the necessary approvals to execute works on site.
Day release attendance at college in either Edinburgh or Glasgow will be required. These opportunities are suitable for enthusiastic individuals looking for their first role in the Construction Industry. A minimum of Standard Grade Maths grade 3 is essential (or equivalent). Higher grades preferred. Experience using Excel / AutoCad would be an advantage.
