Cate Tiffany Between Grace & Grit

Cate Tiffany, a senior at Ursuline Academy and a Preston Hollow resident, embodies grace and grit. A member of Jesuit's renowned drill team, the Rangerettes, Cate has dedicated years of hard work and commitment to her craft, earning the admiration of her community and peers. Her love for dance began at the age of three, and her lifelong passion paved the way to joining the drill team as a freshman. Now a Senior Officer, she has earned her role through countless hours of practice, unwavering dedication, and exceptional leadership
This summer, Cate volunteered at The Rise School and decided to complete her Ursuline Academy senior service project there. Her experiences working with the children at The Rise School profoundly impacted her and inspired her to pursue a major in Special Education at Texas A&M University, where she will begin her studies in the fall. "It was such a rewarding experience to work with these amazing kids," Cate shares. "They taught me so much about patience, understanding, and celebrating every milestone."
Spending about 20 hours a week at practices, Cate has mastered the art of balancing school, sports, and her social life. Her demanding schedule has taught her invaluable lessons in organization and prioritization, skills that extend far beyond the dance floor. "The time commitment of Rangerettes has really forced me to manage my time and make the most of every minute," Cate says. She leans on her love of dance during challenging times, drawing strength from memories of pushing through tough moments and learning valuable lessons along the way.
Cate's faith plays a significant role in her experience as a student-athlete.
"Before every performance, we pray with the whole team and encourage each other. We trust the Lord for guidance in all aspects of performances and competitions," Cate says with a smile. She also finds motivation in her long-time studio dance instructor, Bethany Stimson, a woman she admires deeply. "She is an amazing dancer and choreographer and always reminds us to enjoy the whole process even when things are difficult. She always helps me to keep the right perspective and to enjoy the process, even when things
Cate's journey has been more than a solo effort; the Rangerettes have given her friendships she knows will extend far beyond high school. With that mindset, Cate Tiffany isn't just dancing — she's making every step count, creating moments her team, family, and Preston Hollow neighbors won't soon forget.
