De la moda a la fábrica: una nueva era tecnológica En la 20ª edición del Congreso de la UITIC celebrado del 16 al 18 de mayo en Oporto, Portugal, se centró en el concepto ‘De la moda a la fábrica: una nueva era tecnológica’. Los ponentes, procedentes de Brasil, China, Francia, Alemania, India, Italia, Rumanía, España, Estados Unidos y Portugal, transmitieron una visión general y profunda sobre la situación de las nuevas tecnologías en el calzado, prestando especial atención a la adaptación del sector a la industria 4.0. En este sentido, el congreso contó con tres ponentes españoles: Miguel Davia, del instituto tecnológico Inescop, con ‘La impresión 3D está a solo un clic de distancia de los diseñadores de calzado’; Francisca Arán, también de Inescop, con ‘Cueros funcionales por tecnología de plasma láser’, y Javier Cortés, con ‘Probador virtual basado en realidad aumentada’.El Congreso, celebrado en la ciudad lusa, fue un éxito de participación, en especial internacional. Hay que tener en cuenta que Portugal exporta el 95% de su producción en calzado. Las diferentes ponencias aportaron una información imprescindible para los fabricantes, ya que las temáticas se basaron en la tecnología más puntera, que, pese al esfuerzo de implementación, resulta indispensable para satisfacer al cliente final y, a medio plazo, reduce costes en producción. El respeto al medioambiente formó parte de las jornadas, ya que atañe particularmente a la industria del calzado. Se propuso una tecnología eco-eficiente para obtener pieles funcionales repelentes al agua, resistentes al fuego, antimanchas y con propiedades antimicrobianas, como alternativa mucho más sostenible que los tratamientos convencionales de acabado. Como resumen, el Congreso incentivo a los asistentes a adoptar medidas tecnológicas lo antes posible. Los fabricantes y técnicos que no acudieron a esta cita pueden ponerse en contacto con entidades como Inescop para hacerse con los contenidos de las ponencias. El sector del calzado está obligado a dar un salto cualitativo hacia la industria 4.0, de ello depende su influencia en los mercados internacionales.
From fashion to factories: a new tech era During the 20th edition of the UITIC Congress held in Oporto, Portugal, from May 16th to 18th, the theme concept was “From fashion to factories: a new tech era”.Presentations from Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Romania, Spain, the United States, and Portugal, gave a comprehensive, deep vision of the new technologies in the footwear industry, with special focus on the sector’s adaptation to 4.0 Industry. The three speakers from Spain were Miguel Davia, from Inescop, technology institute, and his “3D printing is only a click away from footwear designers”; Francisca Arán, also from Inescop, with “Functional leathers and laser plasma technologies”; and Javier Cortés, with “Virtual tester based on augmented reality”.The Congress held in the Portuguese city was a success in terms of international participation. Portugal exports 95% of its footwear production.The various speakers contributed indispensable information to manufacturers for their presentations were based on state-of-the-art technologies. There represent major investments, but are in fact what is required to meet end users’ expectations and in the medium term, mean savings in terms of production.Environmental awareness was also a part of the Congress for it has a particular impact on footwear manufacturing. Eco-efficient technologies were presented, to produce water-repellant, flame-resistant, stain-repellant and antimicrobial leathers, as an alternative that is sustainable and more eco-friendly than conventional treatments.In short, the Congress was motivating and attendants were convinced that technologies are the answer to needs, and should be adopted as soon as possible. Both technicians and manufacturers who were not able to attend can contact Inescop to learn more about these developments. The footwear sector is now really forced to adapt to 4.0 Industry technologies. For this will be the key to their influence in international markets.
