Lala Lajpat Rai

Jan 28, 1865 - Nov 17, 1928

Known as Punjab Kesari, Lala Lajpat Rai was an Indian freedom fighter. He inspired young men and kindled latent spirit of patriotism in their hearts with journalistic writings and lead-by-example activism.

Lajpat Rai was grievously injured when he was lathicharged by the British during a peaceful protest against Simon Commission in Lahore in 1928. He later succumbed to those injuries.
