MEMBERS NEWS Change to Dress Code for Members’ Competitions
•
Members can wear black or navy breeches/ jodhpurs instead of the current requirement for white, cream or beige. Members can wear a long sleeve polo shirt in the club colours (i.e. light blue), instead of a PRARG club shirt if they prefer to have long sleeves, or they can wear sun sleeves with their club shirt for sun protection.
Thank you to everyone who completed the survey which was sent by email in May to our members to gauge your views on relaxing the dress code at Members Days’ (i.e. internal comps) at the PRARG grounds.
•
The Management Committee have discussed and decided that as of 1st August 2021, the dress code can relax (for Members’ Days only) as follows:
Alternatively, the members can choose to follow the EA dress rules (see the EA rule book) as is a current option for Members’ days.
July’s Ribbon Day Postponed
AGM / Trophy Presentation
Unfortunately we had to postpone the Ribbon Day which was due to have taken place on Sunday 25 July due to the arenas still being too wet after the rain late in the week.
The Management Committee have started preparations for the Trophy Presentation Dinner (incorporating the AGM) which will take place on the evening of Saturday 13 November at the Albert River Winery. Make a note of this date in your diaries, we will be providing further details a bit closer to the time.
The new date for this event is Saturday 11 September. All competitors have been contacted by email and their entry will be carried over to this new date. If any competitor is unable to compete on this date, they need to contact Emma Flegman (insert email/mobile) to arrange a refund and withdraw. Entries have reopened to new competitors and details can be found on Nominate or via our website.
Half Year Memberships
PRARG is 40! (1981 - 2021)

Join the club with celebrations on the evening of Saturday 13th November at our trophy presentation. Memorabilia and photos from the past will be presented on the night. Any members who have memorabilia that could be used please contact Kay at prarginc81@bigpond.com or 0419 741 273.

A Property Identification Code (PIC) is used by Biosecurity Queensland and is unique to your property. This code is necessary for maintaining property and livestock records as part of the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS). These requirements: • • •
Protect our livestock industries from pests and diseases Provide a system for individual or group identification if your stock are removed from your property Allow you to record individual performance data for management and breeding purposes.
All Queensland properties that have livestock, such as cattle and horses, must have a PIC number. If you have not already provided PRARG with your PIC number when joining or renewing your membership, please email this through to prarg.secretary@gmail.com Failure to register your property can result in a $4,000 fine. Further PIC information can be found here (or use a search engine using Property Identification Codes Queensland)
INSURANCE What does this mean for YOU as a member of PRARG? As the club has just renewed its EA Insurance Policy, this is a timely reminder as to what is covered and what is not when you as a member ride or compete at the PRARG Grounds
What is defined as a horse activity day? What cover do club members have at club competitions? As a rider at PRARG, unless you are a FINANCIAL member of EA/EQ, you are NOT covered for personal injury should you have a fall at the grounds. You are covered 24/7 for personal injury as an EA/EQ member when you ride. This benefit alone should be reason enough to join.

IMPORTANT RULES TO FOLLOW The expectation from our Management Committee, Insurance Provider, Logan Council and Equestrian Australia is to ensure that only financial members of PRARG and registered competitors are permitted to ride on the grounds. To maintain our excellent reputation as a compliant and diligent club this warning reminder is stated:
Do not allow your friends or other persons to ride your horse while on the grounds. A coach may but must have either EA insurance or their own a certificate of currency. There are no exceptions from this ruling and a serious penalty process will apply to anyone who jeopardises the rule. The rules we apply are to protect, one and all, so we expect that you will understand and respect this warning. GROUNDS: Anna Flohr - 0407 622 666
