In terms of immediate objectives Quit India failed because of heavy-handed suppression, weak coordination and the lack of a clear-cut programme of action. However, the British government realised that India was ungovernable in the long run, and the question for postwar became how to exit gracefully and peacefully.

1 Mangalyaan, 2014: India joined an exclusive global club when it successfully launched the Mars Orbiter Mission on a shoestring budget that was at least 10 times lower than a similar project by the US. The Rs 450-crore project revolved round the Red Planet and to collect data on Mars’ atmosphere and mineral composition. 2 Chandrayaan, 2008: India’s first unmanned lunar probe was launched almost a decade ago and was a landmark in India’s space mission. Isro joined an elite list of just six space organisations to send an orbiter to the moon. A Tricolor was hoisted on the moon but Isro lost contact with Chandrayaan soon after. 3 Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System, 2016:

CENTERS

The seven-satellite system created India’s very own satellite navigation system e terrestrial and will provide services in marine navigation, disaster management, vehicle tracking and fleet management, and navigation aide for drivers. Experts said an Indianowned system will be particularly useful in times of war to gain positional accuracy.

Would you like to walk with me and see from my eyes? The world I know is different, the world I make is mine. I live in the world of zillions yet I paint one of mine. The happy heart, the safe mind, the healthy surrounding, the best of the world is all I want. Joyful, colorful, young at heart, that’s all I’ve ever seen myself as. What about the blacks and greys? Well, we are seen playing till I design, then we become the aquaintances we are told of. Let’s color the world with the dripping paints from rainbow to dump the sorrows of grief. To bringing along our cartoon favourites and filling the canvas of growing up. Let’s make our childhood as the spine of life to keep climbing the ladder of life.
