FOCAL THEME OF THE CONFERENCE (Download Folder) Technology is being effectively and efficiently used in all aspects of life. When it comes to education, its role becomes very important. The history of Educational Technology traces back to the 18th Century; though it got prominence after the World War- II, during the 1940s and 1950s. Earlier it referred to the use of various aids like chalkboards, tape recorders, slide projectors, OHPs, etc. in the field of Education i.e. the use of new technologies in Education. As more and more researches were done in this field, the concept got modified and in present times it refers to the planning and organization of all the available and appropriate learning

resources such as man and materials, methods and media in an integrated and systematic way for optimizing learning and improving the teaching learning process. This resulted in a paradigm shift from the use of technology in Education to the use of technology of Education. However, this transition requires a thorough appraisal of the existing educational system, objectives and the means used to attain them, and organization and integration of whatever technique is used with the teaching learning process. Though a lot has been said about the role and the use of Educational Technology in the teaching learning process, when it comes to real classroom teaching, it is felt that the actual integration of technology with the teaching learning process is still in its juvenile stage.
