Members  suffer  when  vandals   and  thieves  strike  PRECorp #Z5JN7FMEFS 13&$PSQ .BSLFUJOH$PNNVOJDBUJPOT4QFDJBMJTU All  it  takes  is  one  bullet  to  put  hundreds   of   Powder   River   Energy   Corporation   (PRECorp)   members   in   the   dark. A  recent  act  of  vandalism  brought   that  point  home  when  someone  fired   at  a  PRECorp  substation  in  northern   &URRN&RXQW\RQ6XQGD\0DUFK 0RUHWKDQ35(&RUSPHPEHUV in  Crook  and  Campbell  counties  lost   electricity  because  the  shooting  damaged   the   substation’s   main   transformer. Although   power   was   restored   on   an   interim   basis   a   few   hours   later,   costly  long-term  repairs  may  be  necessary.   Crook   County   authorities   are   investigating   the   incident   and   PRE&RUS LV KRSHIXO D UHZDUG could  entice  someone  to  step  forward   with  information. If   anyone   has   any   information   about  this  specific  incident,  call  your   local   law   enforcement   office.   If   you   notice   anyone   causing   damage   to   PRECorp   facilities,   call   911   immediately. Often,  the  situation  occurs  because   a  newer,  bigger  piece  of  equipment  no   longer  clears  a  line  the  way  a  smaller   one   did.   In   addition,   shifting   soil   may  affect  whether  or  not  machinery   avoids  power  lines  from  year  to  year.
