PRECorp needs to know your primary information
When Powder River Energy employees need to contact members about service problems, billing questions, or safety issues, the information can be delivered more quickly when they have a current phone number and physical address on file. As people change physical addresses, or abandon land-line telephones for cellular phones, their contact information can quickly become outdated. Your primary contact phone number for your account is printed on the payment stub at the bottom of your billing statement. This number can be a home phone, a cell phone, a business phone - or all three. PRECorp representatives rely upon physical addresses and accurate phone numbers, especially during emergencies. If the information shown on your statement is incorrect, please provide the correct information on the form below. Our automated notification system will let you know about planned outages or reasons for an outage, as well as other important information from PRECorp. These updates could also be sent via e-mail to keep you informed about PRECorp’s operations. Fill in the form on this page and return it to any PRECorp office, return with your bill, or, you may call our Member Service Department at 1-800-4423630 to update your information over the phone.

PRECorp seeks feedback through member surveys By Kristin Kelly, PRECorp Marketing Communications From visiting restaurants to buying cars, we often make decisions based on what other people think. Major or minor, our decisions are impacted by others opinions, and that’s why we need your help. When you sign up for a new service or report an outage, we want to know if you are satisfied with Powder River Energy Corporation. Because your opinion of us matters, you might be asked to participate in a telephone survey. Touchstone Energy Services, in coordination with FGI Research, Inc. is conducting the telephone surveys for Powder River Energy. Professional telephone interviewers will identify themselves as calling on behalf of Powder River Energy Corporation. All telephone interviews will originate on caller IDs with a “919” area code. These surveys will occur throughout the year. Telephone interviews will be made primarily on weeknights between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. local time. Additional calling on Saturday may be instituted if necessary, but no surveys will be conducted on Sundays or holidays. If they miss you, you will be given an opportunity to schedule an appointment to complete the interview at a time convenient to you. We’ll keep the interviews short, but any feedback you provide is appreciated. “Having real-time and instant feedback – both good and bad – helps us improve our member service,” says Dolly Schloredt, PRECorp Sr. Vice President of Member Services. “The data will identify issues we need to address to better serve our membership.”
Call One-Call of Wyoming at 1-800-849-2476 at least two business days before you intend to dig and request the location of all underground facilities on public rights-of-way in the area of the construction or excavation. Be prepared with information about the scheduled time, location, and nature of your activity and the name of any contractor involved in the project. You may also have to pay for locates between meters and structures on private property. After the lines are located on both sides of the meter, you may proceed with the excavation. But remember if you know there are facilities in the area of your dig, you may need to take special care not to damage any lines or pipes and this may sometimes require hand digging as a precaution. Plan ahead. Call One-Call of Wyoming at 1-800-849-2476, well in advance of starting your project.
Scammers targeting cooperative members Powder River Energy Corporation members are advised to be wary of scammers posing as collection agents demanding payment to avoid disconnection. Recently, a number of utility customers across the nation have reported that a caller has impersonated their utility company, claiming the customer’s bill is overdue and needs to be paid immediately. If the customer refuses, the caller threatens disconnection.
This recent scam has generally targeted commercial accounts and requests a prepaid debit card payment. The caller will even provide a call-back number. Caller ID’s have been crafted to appear to be your utility company. PRECorp sends a notice prior to any direct telephone calls regarding delinquent bills. If you receive a collections call or e-mail from someone posing as a PRECorp representative, please call your local PRECorp office at 1-800-442-3630 to confirm it is your local electric cooperative.
