Seven volumes are bound in ¼ or ½ leather or buckram with marbled boards. One volume is bound in brown buckram. General condition of seven volumes is Very Good with light to moderate rubbing to edges and boards and the pages of Le Rire filled with richly colored illustrations. The following lists the months contained in each volume: Dec 1897-Sept 1898; June 1898-Nov 1899 (front board and spine detached from textblock); Oct 1898-July 1899; Jan-Dec 1900 (two copies); Jan-Dec 1907; Jan-Dec 1908. . The binding of one of the two 1900 volumes 'Le Rire" is in poor condition with the front board partially detached and boards compromised.
