Wedding Packages at Formosa Thank you for your interest in hosting your wedding at Formosa Golf Resort. Situated on the beautiful Pohutukawa Coast and a mere 45 minutes from central Auckland you will find a truly superb venue for your special day. Formosa Golf Resort is a specialized wedding venue, with a sophisticated and elegant atmosphere. We are set in Beachlands and look out over the Pohutakawa Cost, with extensive private grounds for the enjoyment of you and your guests. Formosa is a fully licensed facility with an experienced team of staff to ensure all your needs, and those of your guests are taken care of during the planning and execution of your special day. Formosa can cater for groups from 5 to 250 guests internally and also have the option of erecting a marquee on the ample grounds that we have available for those wedding that push from 250 plus. Notes on pricing Notes on pricing The following prices are all inclusive of GST. If you choose to have your wedding on a public holiday please be aware that a surcharge of 10% will apply.

Ceremony Couples are welcome to have the experience of having their entire wedding onsite at Formosa. The outside location is the Palm Patio or there is an alternate location in case of bad weather. The cost of the ceremony is $400.00 including GST and includes the following Patio area overlooking the golf course and the Hauraki Gulf. Seating for up to 100 guests. (Please note more chairs can be added at an extra cost). Table & chair for signing of the registry. Lapel & handheld microphone for the celebrant or readings. Stereo system for the ceremony music.

Reception Room The Palm room is a spectacular function room with floor to ceiling windows, which overlook the golf course and the Hauraki Gulf. Alternatively we have a much bigger room ‘Phoenix Centre’ that can sit 250 guests. This is internal but comes with its own foyer area with a spectacular view and built in bar. The Palm room caters for a minimum of 60 guests and a maximum of 110 guests. The Palm room has it’s own bar area and dancefloor.

Times Ceremony and reception start times are by arrangement with Formosa. The venue will be available for commencement at the scheduled time and shall be vacated no later than 12.00 AM.

Children’s Prices Children are welcome to join you on your Wedding Day. Children are not to be counted in the minimum numbers as this is based on adult guests. Children 3yrs of age and under are free of charge. Children between the ages of 4 – 12 years are half price. Alternatively we have a $10 kids menu (if this is better suited).


Beverages There are two ways that the bar can be set up… 1. The beverages can be calculated on a consumption basis up to a dollar limit that has been previously arranged with Formosa, with the beverages that have been selected from our beverage list, or, 2. A cash bar. Formosa is a fully licensed venue; therefore all beverages are to be purchased onsite. We do not allow any sort of BYO.

Accommodation Formosa has 28 Deluxe villas and 22 Executive villas. Each individual villa has a view of the golf course and Hauraki Gulf. Each villa is complimented with spa baths, twin bathrooms and a large king size bed or twin beds. For all the bride & grooms family and friends, Formosa offer a special rate of – Deluxe Villa: $135.00 including GST, for 2 guests per villa, per night – room only Executive Villa: $150.00 including GST, for 2 guests per villa, per night – room only Please note – An extra bed charge of $50.00 including GST, for extra guests applies to all villas that have more than two guests including children. We have a limited number of portable cots also on site which guests are welcome to use at $20.00 including GST, per cot.

Deposit A confirmed booking at Formosa requires a $2,000.00 deposit along with a signed contract. This deposit is refundable, providing cancellation is in writing and received 6 months before the original date on the contract for the wedding, to receive a full refund. The deposit will be forfeited if cancellation is made less than 6 months before the date of the Wedding, unless the date is resold within three months prior to the date of the Wedding. The deposit will be deducted from the final bill, which will be posted out after the wedding.

Payment Payment of the package and ceremony is required 7 days prior to the event by cash, cheque or credit card. Amex and Diners Cards are not accepted. Full and final payment of the account is required within 7 days receipt of the invoice from Formosa Auckland Country Club by cash, cheque or credit card. The deposit will be deducted off the final account. Amex and Diners Cards are not accepted.
