PROHIBITED

5 The City of Portland has an off leash dog park located at 1001 Moore Avenue. Bring your dog and let him run off all that extra energy while making some new friends.

TIPS When Visiting Kaiah Dog Park • Always supervise your dog and children. • Don’t allow your dog to crowd the entrance gate while other owners are entering with their dog. • Keep children close. Letting them run with the dogs in the park could result in injury. • If your dog isn’t having a good day, try again another time. • Always clean up after your dog, bags are provided. • Leave food outside the fenced area, some dogs could become aggressive if there is food available. • It is not safe for puppies to go to the park until they have had all their shots. • Unleash your dog in the double gate entry, coming into the park with leash still on could make your dog feel threatened when approached by dogs off leash. • If you are worried about the interaction between dogs, talk to the dog’s owner to discuss and see what is going on.

Visit the Kaiah Dog Park from sun up to sun down. All park users must clean up after their dogs, bags are available at the park for your convenience. There are many times that messes are left behind. Please supervise your dog and clean up after him/her. There will be times the park will be closed for maintenance. Closures will be only when necessary but there will be times it must be closed for repair, rehab and installation of new features. Also note that the park will be closed due to weather. Rain will cause park closure to protect grounds.

Food of any kind (Human or Dog Food ) • Dogs in Heat, Aggressive Dogs and Sick Dogs • Puppies Under 4 Months Old • No Glass Containers or Alcohol are Allowed in Park

SWIM LESSON PROGRAM he Jeff Ellis and Associates Learn to Swim Program features many levels of instruction to help swimmers from infants Tlearning through adults develop their swimming and water safety skills. The program is designed to give students a positive experience while covering skills in a logical progression for optimal development. Water safety skills are also taught and practiced within each class and each session. Every stage of the program is challenging and therefore students may take the same class more than once. We reserve the right to combine classes as needed. Registration Information

Class Wait List

Registration begins Monday, March 26, 2018 at 5:30 AM. You can register in person at the Portland Community Center or online at www.portlandtx.com. Please note that we will not process phone registrations. Cost of each 8 day session is $39.00. Payment must accompany completed registration form. Registration will close the Sunday prior to class begin date.

We limit the class size to provide an optimal student instructor ratio. If a class has reached the maximum limit, names are placed on a waiting list and students are called as openings become available.

Advancing to the Next Level

A minimum of 4 participants is required to have a class. We reserve the right to cancel classes based on enrollment. Classes that do not meet the minimum enrollment will be cancelled and we will make a reasonable attempt to transfer students to another open class. If needed, a full refund to your account will be automatically issued, this account credit can be used towards any future programs. In lieu of a credit, a check may be requested by contacting the Portland Community Center.

In order to advance to the next level, students must pass ALL skills listed for the particular level in which the student is enrolled.

Why should I enroll my child in the same level repeatedly? Children may be in a level 3-4 times before completing the skill requirements to progress to the next level. The levels are not designed for children to pass through quickly. Within each class there are different levels of skills and abilities. Your instructor should be able to work with the student at the appropriate skill level due to our low student-instructor ratio. If you feel your child needs one on one instruction to further them to the next level, consider private lessons.

Class Cancellation, Transfer, and Refund Policy Parks & Recreation Cancellation

Customer Cancellation You may request a cancellation of your class by 8:00 AM on the FRIDAY PRIOR to the first day of the class and receive a refund, minus a $10.00 cancellation fee.
