He played for the Timbers U-23s during the 2011 Premier Development League season, appearing in 13 matches that season, logging 1,047 minutes and scoring two goals. He finished the season ranked among team leaders in both games played and minutes.

Rincón, a young playmaker, came up through the youth system of Colombian side Deportivo Cali and played youth club soccer in the United States before starting his professional career in 2010 at the age of 17, playing with the reserve team of Colombian club Independiente Santa Fe.
