Explore the different continents and its countries within, discovering exciting new experiences and cultures through creative crafts, ethnic cooking, story reading, gardening, music, games, sports and outdoor play. In keeping with tradition, time will also be dedicated to homework help and skill building in a caring and nurturing environment.

Meet our World of Wonders Teacher

Ellen Thomas Harshman

Ellen has 29 years of experience including 16 years leading afterschool programs. At Portland Parks & Recreation’s Southwest Community Center, Ellen has been a preschool instructor, taught infant, toddler and youth classes, was the lead for Kids' Days Off and Winter and Spring Break Camps, and was the summer camp director. At Hillside, Ellen has been the lead of the afterschool program, Parents' Time Off, and camps, and has taught the preschool extension courses.
