Inclement Weather Policy If the City of Portland public school districts (Portland Public, Parkrose, David Douglas, Reynolds, and Centennial) are closed because of weather conditions, PP&R classes and youth basketball in those school districts may be cancelled. We recommend that you check in with your community centers for the latest information about individual registered programs and activities. Some recreation programs may run as conditions and instructor availability allow. Decisions to operate on a specific site basis are made when it is determined that all programs may operate safely. Call the specific PP&R facility for information and opening/closing times. If inclement weather is forecast on weekends or holidays, call the PP&R facility or program for operating hours and activity cancellations. Updates to schedules will also be made on our website (portlandparks.org) and our Facebook pages.

DROP-IN Bowling For Fun age 10 - adult

Have fun with your friends while knocking down pins. Beginners to advanced bowlers are welcome. Bring $5 for one game or $10 for two. To accommodate bowlers who wish to play every week & don’t want to hassle with bringing money each time, we offer a 20 game punch card for $100. Bowling begins at 3:00pm. Shoes are free. Preregistration is not required. Adaptive bowling equipment is available at the lanes.

Senior / Adaptive Swim

Come join us for Senior/Adaptive Swim! You can use our warm water pool to swim laps, do your own exercises, walk with or against the current channel & use the whirl pool spa. It’s a great time to meet other seniors & have a quiet time to exercise. Have fun dancing to a DJ or a band. Socialize with friends, both new & old. Refreshments are provided. Cost for participants is $5. Facility staff & parents get in free, but donations are kindly accepted to help with the cost. Group & foster home staff must stay to assist their participants in the dance unless prior arrangements have been made with AIR by calling 503-823-2883. Due to the large number of participants who attend the dance, AIR staff is only able to supervise participants who are in the auditorium, social room, or hallway of the center. Staff is unable to provide assistance to participants who need close supervision or personal care in the restroom. Location Mt. Timberline Lodge

Tour the majestic 1930s lodge or relax on the mountainside. Look for Heidi the St Bernard dog! Eat your picnic lunch as you are looking at the breath-taking views from the mountain. Fresh trout anyone? Experience the sensation of catching & eating your own dinner. Improve fishing skill & hook a "Whooper" from a stocked pond located in a natural setting. Multnomah Falls & Vista House

Pearson Air Museum

Did you know we had an Air Museum right across the bridge? Come find out about the lives of people who were part the fur trade & westward expansion. In the Chief Factor’s House, find about Dr. John McLoughlin & his aid for American settlers in the Pacific Northwest. So much to see & so little time. Dates July 12 Course 1082744

Rail Museum & Tram

Today we are off to see how many different types of transportation we can use. We will ride our 15-passenger bus to the train Museum, where we will spend the morning exploring old rail cars. Astoria Trolley

Trying something new – after lunch in Astoria join us for a trip on a 1913 heritage streetcar for a ride down the 3-mile Riverfront. Chief Lelooska Pow Wow

Set in the fire-lit replica of a ceremonial house, the living history performance consists of dramatic narration & dance presentations of traditional Northwest Coast ceremonial masks. The performance is designed to give the audience an understanding of Northwest Coast First Nations culture, as well as a feeling of intimate participation in this living history. The Lelooska Museum located in Ariel, WA, houses an immense collection of artifacts from many regions, a replica fur trade store & a gift shop. Fee includes cost of admission ticket. Top Golf

Something new! Try your hand at golf. This is for beginners or for those with a little more experience in golfing. We will be hitting the balls too & competing against yourself. Players score points by hitting balls (assigned using our microchip technology) into any target. The more accurate your shot & the farther the distance, the more points you earn. Portland Train Day Celebration

Trains, trains, trains! What better way to celebrate Portland Train Day than at Oregon Rail Heritage Center – the only working rail museum in Portland? Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation is once again resurrecting Portland’s celebration of trains with the second annual Portland Train Day. Listen to the live music, face painting & much more. Chehalis-Centralia Railroad

Gaze at the scenery on a nine-mile train ride. The Chehalis-Centralia is one of the few remaining steam-powered passenger railroads in Washington state. Our trek winds through the scenic upper Chehalis River valley, crossing over several wooden trestles & passing many historic farms. Columbia Gorge Day of Fun

Come explore the interpretive center with us! Check out the time prints that are boldly etched on the walls of the Columbia Gorge that records a 40-million-year-long story of change, endurance & majesty. The first human imprints in the Gorge were left by the Indian cultures that flourished here for thousands of years. Bring $10 for admission & $20 for lunch in Washington on our way. A 52 -acre working elk ranch. Come check out the elk, pygmy goats, miniature donkeys, wallaby & chickens. Learn all about the elks' antlers, hooves, their ivory teeth & much more! Day at the Beach

Spend the day exploring Cannon Beach. Build sand castles, walk or roll along the ocean & enjoy the view of the ocean. We are able to get wheelchairs that go on the sand!!
