1955

Classes begin at Knott Street Community Center (now called Matt Dishman Community Center) under the name Community Music Center.

1957

The program moves to the Woodstock Community Center (a former firehouse).

1960

Community Music Center, Inc. is formed, a non-profit established to support the PP&R music program.

1969

CMC moves to its current home, the Francis Street Firehouse, newly renovated for the music program.
