Community Outreach Center: Kirkwood Urban Forest Atlanta, Ga The design for the Community Environmental Education Center in the Kirkwood Urban Forest consists of ways through geometries, tectonics, and materials to enhance the site in order to bring the communtiy together. The Kirkwood Urban Forest is a unique environment being so close to Downtown Atlanta. By taking advantage of certain site conditions, the design for the Center exists alongside nature rather than trying to overpower it. The design creates a panoramic scene of the Kirkwood Urban Forest given that every branch of the building allows for a different view to be experienced. This design features ways to bring the community closer together to experience what nature has to offer while getting out of the big city to enjoy the peace and serenity.

Info + Arts Center: Georgia Tech Atlanta, Ga The Information + Arts Center at Georgia Tech presents a geometrical design abstrated from the site and further developed to maximize space and efficiency for the occupants. The Center offers double height ceilings with mezzanine spaces, several outdoor entertainment areas, and views towards the Atlanta skyline and the Georgia Tech campus with an observation deck. Being sunken into the ground takes advantage of the ridgeline in which the center sits, as well as not being an overpowering modern structure on the historic Marietta Street Artery, but still providing a presence in which draws visitors in.

Drone Port: Lake Victoria Challenge Mwanza, Tanzania Conceptually, the project is based on an abstraction of a particular site. The use of different materials as well as different methods of showing abstraction helped define a certain concept of verticality and modularity. Verticality being the use of the thin columns with varying heights, which come with benefits, and modularity being more of an advancement in the design process, but the constant changing of the structure and location. This drone port is supposed to be able to go on top of many different variations of sites, so being able to piece together certain aspects of the structure to fit the needs of the site better would be the goal of the modular aspect.

Textile Tectonics: Film School Atlanta, Ga This project is experiment based research where figures from Art Nouveau precedents were used to form the column basis of the resulting building. Figures were created by paper strips, and then converted to tubing to allow for more tension and possible points of entanglements. The figures created from the tube experiment were then put into an library in the Rhino 6 software, which allowed for more configurations than what was presented in the experiment. The figures in Rhino were put into the programmed floors for optimal space to be columnless, while still supporting the structure. Floors were stretched due to the tension from the columns, which gave us our facade of ruled surfaces and contorted glass. This film school is a direct response to the original experiments.

Research Facility: UGAMI Sapelo Island, Ga This project focuses on how to solve issues within an endangered ecosystem. It also involves creating a new research institution that can withstand inclimate weather, can show the interconnectivity between natural systems and man-made systems, can be versatile to increase the lifespan of the building, and can serve as a coming-together venue for the communtiy and the researchers. Research is a primary focus, but public access to allow for communtiy involvement is important as well. The programming is based around these factors, as it includes large public areas that surround the private research programs.

Building Addition: College of Design East Atlanta, Ga This project was about adding onto the elder CoD East building in a way that relates to the newer addition, CoD West. The design allows for nature to be evident, which is considered to be another form of structure and order, despite the non-gridded expansion of the leaves and branches. The building design also displays movement qualities of certain rectangles. The push and pull aspect of the blocks were used in the width and height, as well as an addition of an alternate route for circulation to flow differently. These qualities make up the design for transforming a building, which lies on a grid.

Earthwork: Tech Green Atlanta, Ga The project is about evaluating the landscape and designing a theatre of actions within the parameters of Tech Green at the center of Georgia Tech’s campus. A theatre can be defined as a structure of any material that allows for a variety of uses. This design consists of four foot tall pyramids allowing for space to lounge, socialize, or study while providing parts of shade.
