Hi! I’m Jason, Travel with me to centre of India to experience wildlife at...
Kanha & Bandhavgarh Jungle Lodge
In October I drove 4 hrs from Khajuraho to fourteen thatched twin-bedded cottages within walking distance of Bandhavgarh National Park’s main gate.
Jungle excursions are held at dawn and dusk accompanied by highy competent resident naturalists which lasts for 3-4 hours each. I spotted a Tigeress with a cub!
After the star gazing session and identifying some magnificent planets through the lodge’s telescope, we were entertained by local tribal people.
Drove for 4.5hrs from Bandhavgarh to Kanha to be greeted by a wonderful family of Tarun and Dimple who go an extra mile to make the stay comfortable and memorable.
I went on an elephant through thick bamboo forest, streams and meadows to spot tiger. I even learnt to make “roti for myself in cookery class.
Last day of my trip, on this 11 acre estate I sipped my morning coffee with chirping of birds, a Langur monkey and even a few strolling spotted deer in my backyard.
Kailash Sankhala “Tiger Man of India 1925-1994, best known for his work in preserving tigers, and was involved in the formation of Project Tiger, a conservation programme set up in India in 1973 under the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
