Initially, these activities were developed in the CRUZEX Exercise, which included the Flight arrangements (involving the use of aircraft) and C2. This was done in five editions, held in Natal (RN), Canoas (RS) and Anápolis (GO). In 2012, CRUZEX C2 was the first to have only the decision making modality - the following year the CRUZEX Flight occurred. “The advantages are the possibility of creating more complex tactical and operational scenarios, planning missions with more aircraft, greater difficulties in simulated problems with results control, and increasing the capacity to identify processes and interactions within the air component itself”, adds the Brazilian Air Force general.

The scenario As a fictitious backdrop, the history of the site has been troubled since World War II, when the Blue and Red countries fought on opposite sides. With the end of the conflict, the defeated Red had its territory divided in two, being born the Yellow one. Years later, under an authoritarian regime, the Red again annexes a part of the territory that had lost, attracting the international community attention. In the virtual world, this means that for two weeks most of the Northeast Region has become an Operations Theater with everything a war involves: combat aircraft, sieges, refugees and even threat of chemical weapons.
