The redevelopment effort will focus on several catalyst projects which include: 1. Town Centre Area, Sakchi Market and Bistupur Market 2. The Tatanagar Station 3. The North-West Gateway Area 4. Business Parks Development 5. The Improvement of the Streetscape Some of these areas are nodes of focused study where the density will best suited to occur in order to keep the city growth to be compact rather than sprawl. These projects will accommodate gradual investment over the years. The preliminary economic impact of the investment will also be explained on this section.

Open space networks are useful for visual amenity, recreational use, and help promote safer and more effective seasonal movement of migratory species. The networks not only serve to organize larger neighborhoods but also create linkages to other sites and the wider landscape.

The improved Tatanagar station will become an important gateway. Development will be based on the transport oriented development (TOD) principles. The station will integrate not only with different modes of public transport but also with proposed mixed-use development.

The streetscape improvement project will focus on providing better connectivity through a new LRT line, a public transport system, improvement of the road infrastructure, beautification of the streetscape as well as new and improved bicycle lanes. Sakchi and Bistupur market has been an identity for local Jamshedpur. By upgrading the market with more commercial space as well as open space, a more vibrant market place is created for the locals. The riverside development of the city is a critical element for the master plan of Jamshedpur. Creating spaces along the waterfront point for ecological habitat, recreation, and public access to the river sets up a unique opportunity to showcase Jamshedpur as an exemplar Eco-Smart City.

To facilitate a sense of community and identity to Jamshedpur each neighbourhood is designed based on walking distances and general population sizes. Each area has local parks to act as the centre of the community and green parks on the edges to act as boundaries that help define the neighbourhood. It is important that space for families and children are provided within walking distance. It will be essential to surround parks with different types of land uses to help spread activity and ensure they are well used at different periods of the day.

The new town centre will accommodate the growing demand of commercial and living space. It is planned to be compact combining live, work and play spaces with better connectivity. Additionally, a contemporary art museum is placed in the town centre to complement the overall district and celebrate the culturally rich communities of the city.

The new Tata Headquarters will become the town landmark and anchor development piece for the centre district of Jamshedpur.
