Natural Connections Competition
M a i n
The Geography Department has been involved in a project from Plymouth University called Natural Connections. This is a project where the students have had to design a logo to represent learning outside the classroom. Groups from Year 7 and Year 8 were all asked to produce a design. Natural Connections is a three year Natural England, DEFRA and English Heritage funded Demonstration Project designed to enhance the use of the natural environment in promoting children’s learning across the curriculum. Plymouth University has been selected to deliver this project in 200 schools across the South West of England in Plymouth, Torbay, Cornwall, North Somerset, Bristol and the surrounding areas. The department was up against schools from across the South West region and we found out that Tegen Moore designed the winning entry for the competition and Fred Marsh ‘s design was highly commended. Both students are from 8 MJT. Plymouth University and the Natural Connections Project were ‘Very very impressed with the standards of the entries and will be contacting us soon with awarding prizes and certificates. The Geography Department would like to congratulate both Tegen and Fred for their entries.
Well done to you both!
