Hue Hue is the color reflected off an object as perceived by the human eye and is categorized on a color wheel. Intensity This refers to whether a color is low intensity and has neutral, soft or dull tones, or high intensity and has bright, pure or undiluted tones. Line A line is a mark or stroke made longer in proportion than its height or width. Medium A medium is any substance used in producing a work of art: stone, wire, clay, paint, ink, gesso, substrates and film. Media can be used to imply more than one medium, but mediums is acceptable also. Movement When the elements in a work of art help to create a feeling of motion, it is said to have movement, or that which causes the viewerâ€™s eyes to move around a painting.
