THE LIVING FOOD LOUNGE The Living Food Lounge is a concept hotel lounge bar design, situated at the Heath Hotel, Bewdley. With global warming now a concern for society we need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to help decrease the impacts of climate change. By growing food in the hotel grounds, emissions caused by transportation will be reduced. Composting will reduce food waste which will create a natural fertiliser to grow food organically. This is a community project to train and educate local people about ecology. There are a growing number of vegetarians and vegans in society. The Living Food lounge will demonstrate how to prepare raw food and drinks by a chef at the bar with creative menus. The aim of the interior design is to enhance the current Victorian architecture and blend it with modern furniture, lighting and décor.

OLD HILL TENNIS CLUB The aim of this project was to redesign the tennis club by improving the facilities to attract new members and encourage more people to play tennis. I asked the current members how they would like to improve the facitlites and they suggested a sauna, bar area and massage room, which was incorporated into the design. As the tennis club is surrounded by many large trees, the interior design theme was based around a magical woodland.

DERWEN COLLEGE Derwen is a training college for young people with disabilities to help become independent. The brief was to redesign a residential building so users can have their own space and areas to learn life skills.

LOUNGE/KITCHEN/DINING ROOM View 1 This section of the kitchen was designed with wheelchair users in mind. It has a plinth set back further so the wheelchair can fit under the units and a space under the cooker and sink. The kitchen worktop can also move up and down for better access and lower wall units to reach up to.
View 2 This is a multi purpose area where residents can socialise, cook and eat together. At the kitchen island there can be cookery demonstrations to teach people how to cook.
13
View 3
There are 2 zones to the kitchen and 2 sets of appliances so more than 1 person can cook to allow independence. It is also a social and communal area so people can sit down, eat, watch TV or read if they wish to. There are bi-fold doors leading to the outdoor area.
View 4
The all weather outdoor area has a corner sofa, seating and a barbecue. The sides and roof can be open or closed depending on the weather conditions. This is an ideal area for eating, drinnking, socialising and relaxation.

The exhibition space is designed to have a futuristic feel inspired by the work of Zaha Hadid. An immersive dome shows promotional material. A glass lift with a staircase wrapping around it leads to the mezzanine floor with an OLED screen displaying a Docomo timeline. The lighting for the exhibition area continues the flowing, organic style. 20
CENTURY 21 Century 21 is an estate agents with over 60 branches. The brief was to design for one of the branches by looking at future trends and researching the estate agents market in the UK. PERSPECTIVE VIEWS
Biophilic design connects people to nature and gives a sense of well-being and relaxation. The plants produce oxygen and absorb pollutants. Reclaimed wood is used for the structure of the chairs to help reduce waste. The shape of a house is to signify from the outside that it’s an estate agent. Showing VR in the window would attract people into the building to try VR. The waiting area is in the window where people can sit and relax and have a coffee to create a relaxed atmosphere which may attract people into the building. 24
BOAT HOUSE The purpose of this project was to design a weekend retreat inspired by an inconic influential designer. Using the designer as inspiration we had to understand the work of that designer and to use the knowledge and design philosophy to produce a contemporary re-imaged design. The retreat had to be a 2 person small space. A lake setting was chosen and a boat house where guests could relax, go rowing and appreciate nature in their leisure time. RESEARCH

ENGLISH LEATHER CRAFT The brief was to champion the use of leather in the home by developing a new brand which will initially make smaller leather goods for the home. The design needs to be relatively clean and contemporary and a celebration of materials and craftsmanship. The objective is to produce the designs/ prototypes for a small range of items which will be the launch products for the companies own range. A prototype of the Zen Lamp. A contemporary geometric design, made from bamboo, a sustainable material. It can be customised to suit personal style with a choice of leather colours. It’s simple to construct and light weight for transportation and can be flat packed for distribution.
The image shows range of weaving options available and leather colour choices. An organic, contemporary design complete with large leather cushion for base of chair. It‘s available with stand or chair can be hung from ceiling.

ALONE TOGETHER THE BRIEF: RSA STUDENT DESIGN AWARDS Accounting for how different groups in society are affected by loneliness, design a way to reduce it’s impact on one or more of the following: Physical health, mental health or access to services. RESEARCH “Can you think of anything you’re interested in, a class or a group you’ve heard of, that could help you connect with new people? See useful contacts for ideas of how to find groups that interest you.” (www.mind.org.uk)
“Lonely people could be prescribed cookery classes and art lessons on the NHS in a bid to tackle “one of the greatest public health challenges as our time”, Theresa May has announced. (Article)
“Get involved in local community activities - These will vary according to where you live, but the chances are you’ll have access to a singing or walking group, book clubs, bridge, bingo, quiz nights and faith groups.” (NHS - loneliness in older people)
DESIGN SOLUTION Statistics show that church going in this country has declined dramatically over the years, which may be contributing to the problem of loneliness. A disused church building for sale to create a hobby club to bring people together and reduce the impact of loneliness in society.

BIID STUDENT DESIGN CHALLENGE 2018
The British Institute of Interior Desgin team challenge took place at the Herman Miller showroom in London. The brief was to refurbish the showroom into the headquarters for the brand new station Radio Rebel. The ethos of Radio Rebel was to promote fresh music talent and highlight current affairs that are affecting British youth. The design had to include a multifunctional space with a reception zone, recording booth, performance space and green room, to be presented to a panel of judges. We had 6 hours to complete the challenge and it was CAD free. Our mentor was May Fawzy and were awarded with 2nd place. (The University of Wolverhampton)

FREELANCE INTERIOR DESIGN SERVICES I am currently operating as a Freelance Interior Designer. During lockdown I worked on a dining room/office project and developed my upcycling skills, so the existing furniture matched the scheme. I used a mixture of existing, upcyled, restored and new furniture to save money and help to reduce waste. I sourced items that are healthier for people and the planet such as low VOC and non toxic paints. I enjoy working with local tradespeople and I have completed a project management course and use Sketchup, Photoshop, Indesign and AutoCAD to present my work. My wish is to bring your interior design aspirations to life and help you achieve your ideal spaces. I can work remotely or within a 15 miles radius from Kidderminster, Worcestershire, UK. I can visit you to discuss your requirements for a free design consultation. I am interested in commercial or residential projects.
