Amazon have two model Kindles which look almost identical... Kindle WiFi (wireless) and Kindle 3G priced at $139 and $189 respectively. Apart from the price, what are the real differences between these two? Let's take a look: 1- Connectivity The Kindle WiFi (wireless) will connect to high-speed internet via a wireless router which you may already have set up in your home. It will also connect to WiFi hotspots scattered around your town such as in cafes, libraries, hotels and other such places. What this means is, if you can connect, you can download... it's a simple as that. The Kindle 3G, on the other hand, also has WiFi but in addition, it has 3G capability. Having 3G means that you can connect via the same wireless network used by cell phones. 3G allows you to connect anywhere there is 3G cell phone signal... without having to go through the trouble of setting up a wireless connection or having to roam around town looking for a connection in a WiFi hotspot. Here are the differences in connectivity between the 2 models: Kindle WiFi (wireless): wireless only Kindle 3G: WiFi (wireless) and 3G 2- Color There is not much of a range of color to choose from but here's what's available: Kindle WiFi (wireless): graphite (a charcoal color) Kindle 3G: graphite and white 3-Weight The difference in weight between the two is minimal, in fact, I doubt any would be able to tell the difference of only 0.2 ounces between them.

Kindle WiFi (wireless): 8.5 ounces Kindle 3G: 8.7 ounces 4- Battery Life With the wireless feature switched off, the battery in these two models will last for up to a month before needing to be recharged.
