2016 WILL BE GLORIUOS YEAR FO THE ASSO 99 CLASS, WHICH IS GOING TO RECONFIRM ITS GROING DIMENSION.
A brand new sailing season is starting on Lake Garda for the Asso 99 Italian Class. On Sunday, March 20, the Class will be on the starting line of the 38° edition of the Roberto Bianchi Trophy. The 2016 agenda of the Asso 99 Class will then continue, on April 30 and May 1, with the usual appointment with the Avesani Trophy, in Brenzone, followed by the Bogliaco Gentlemen’s Cup, on May 28-29. As it was for the the past edition, the Brenzone Sailing Club will organize The Italian Open Championship, which is going to take place from June 2 till June 5, together with the Dolphin 81 National open Championship, in Desenzano. Ettore Santarelli designed both the Asso 99 and the Dolphin 81 and, since 2016 is the year of his death’s 20th anniversary, the first week of June will be a kind of “Santarelli’s Week”, on Lake Garda. During the winter season, the Class has made several efforts to strengthen the already existing ties with the German and the Hungarian Asso 99 Classes. So as to encourage German and Hungarian crews to participate to our Italian Championship and to boost the Italian Class to take part in the other European Championships: the German one, on Lake Chiemsee, and the Hungarian one, on Lake Balaton. The Italian Open Championship will be the key event of the entire season, so the Class is already working on some new elements to improve the regatta and all the related contents.
