Salish Sea lecture continues Series on health of Puget Sound continues at Olympic College Mankind has traveled the waterways of the Salish Sea for generations. This week, Olympic College will present how the Puget Sound is faring, and how people can help maintain its health. The free lecture series continues Nov. 13 from 1-3 p.m. at Olympic College in Poulsbo. It is open to the public and presented by Western Washington University.

The lecture will be “Health of the Salish Sea: Toxic Contaminants in the Food Web.” Western Washington alumnus Jennifer Lanksbury, a marine ecotoxicologist with the state Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Puget Sound

Ecosystem Monitoring Program, will lead the presentation on contamination in Puget Sound and how aquatic life is exposed to it. Lanksbury will talk about all the contaminants that pose challenges to the ecosystem.
