A letter from your Lieutenant Governor Hey Stars!       Hope everyone had a great Fourth of July and enjoyed the nice weather. It's been almost three weeks since the end of school and it has finally started to feel like summer. Unfortunately, summer also has the effects of making one lazy and unproductive. I know that that's how it's been for me anyways. If you're feeling the same way as me, make sure to attend the July DCM! We'll be heading over to Olympia Kiwanis Club's garden and helping them harvest and weed. Make sure to attend the DCM on July 28th, from 3-5 PM at 3839 11th Ave NW Olympia, WA. I guarantee that the work we do there will make you feel much more productive. :) Let's help our Kiwanians! Some other exciting news is about Key Club Day North. Check out the page in this newsletter, or go straight to THE EPRESSO to read from the source and learn other things about what's happening in our district. Other than that, just keep on having an awesome summer!                             In love and                            service,  Yufan Mou LTG of Division 38 Pacific Northwest District Key Club International P: (360)878-3190 | E: ltg38@pnwkeyclub.org

Key Club Day North

Read THE ESPRESSO here!

This year, our district has decided to make rallies a thing of the past, and replace them with Key Club Day North and Key Club Day South. For Key Clubbers in the northern region of the PNW District, Key Club Day North is the closer of the two events. It will be held at Wild Waves Theme and Water Park (36201 Enchanted Pkwy S, Federal Way, WA 98003) on Saturday, September 8, 2018. Registration will start at 9 AM, and the program will begin at 10 AM. Make sure you are on time! You don't want to miss out on our guest speaker, Hoan Do's presentation, and awesome information on the Thirst Project. Lunch will be provided at 11 AM, and then Key Clubbers will have free time from 1 PM until the park closes! Stay on the lookout for more information. Tickets will be on sale in the Key Club store.

#SquatsforSwazi

The #squatsforswazi campaign is a movement on Instagram to spread awareness about the people who are still in a water crisis. Post a video of yourself doing eight squats and nominate your friends. "My name is ______ from Division ____ and I was challenged by ______. To represent the 6-8 hours people in Swaziland walk to get water, I will be doing eight squats with these water jugs. The link to donate is in our bio. Next, I challenge _______."

Service Event Spotlight

Tumwater Parade

Lucy Lee (CHS Co-Prez)

This Independence Day, for the first time ever, Capital High School Key Club participated in the Tumwater Parade with our Kiwanians. As Key Clubbers, we proudly walked side by side with the Smitty J Tugboat, which was driven by Kiwanian Dave Peeler. It was a new and exciting experience that brought exposure to both the Kiwanis and Key Clubs of Olympia. We had a blast blowing bubbles and dancing with our K-Family! I highly encourage my fellow Stars to walk with us in the final upcoming parades of the summer :)
