Rotten tomatoes to the people who are liars. What happened to honesty? To those who are proud, what happened to humility? To the people seeking to hurt others, why can’t you just love? To those who say they care, why do you just leave? A court room full of rotten tomatoes to our justice system who granted a $70,000 award for an injury obtained in a car accident. A bouquet of roses to the students of Chalmers Elementary school in Delta who donated coins to help feed and clothe the victims of the Burns Lake fire. Dozens of red roses to the lovely Asian young lady who assisted me to my seat on the Guildford bound #375 bus. Also to the people who

vacated their seats for me. I truly appreciated the kindness shown. Later the same day, roses to the person in line at Newton Save-On store who called a taxi for me. It was a great day.

do dislike your inconsiderate behavior. Roses to dog owners who do the right thing. Roses to our ‘garbage men’ in Clayton Heights – Rick and his son – who made a second loop to pick up our trash when we forgot to put it out the first time. We love you guys!

A bunch of roses to Terry Brown, former tenant relations officer at the Orchard in Guildford. The tenants appreciated the initiatives you introduced – dental hygiene program, library, summer kids’ programs, computer/stereo systems and food bank. You showed us Jesus’ love and we miss your caring leadership!

Rotten tomatoes to the cab driver who decided to pull a uturn right in front of me – and almost into me – on a busy 132nd Street in Newton. You shouldn’t even be able to have a driver’s licence, let alone drive for a living!

Rotten tomatoes to dog owners who do not pick up after their dogs, let their dog loose at on-leash parks and who do not call their dog when it approaches us and lets them jump all over us. We do not dislike your dog, but we

Roses to people in our community who always do their best – no matter what it is they are doing. As my dad used to say (his father taught him), “if you’re a garbage man, be the best damn garbage man there is.”
