Second Ride Out

Well, what a difference a week makes, above left is Kev the only one to turn up with a bike on the first night, a real trooper, and biker of course. Conditions were not ideal to say the least for a ride on that night. Top right is some of the 19 bikes that turned up for the second ride out on the 31st. The weather on this ride was a lot better with good road conditions and good visibility to start the ride. The riders left Marsh Mills at 7.30 on a short ride out to Avonwick via Cott Hill and Elburton then back up the A38 and Parkway to the club house. 38 members turned up for the meeting at the club house and that’s a very good turn out for this time of the year, so well done to all for making it a good club night.

CHARITY RIDE

Well, what can I say about this years BHF charity ride, the weather was not the best we have had and the road conditions could have been better. Despite this 52 bikes still turned up for the ride up across the moors a lot of them with pillion riders who all braved the conditions to end up at the RABI in St Budeaux where the BBQ was all fired up and burgers and hot dogs at the ready. Dennis (the new landlord of the RABI) put in a lot of work and effort to make sure that everything went smoothly that end, I’m sure you will all agree he done a good job and it was all worth while, great burgers. Thanks to Les from the BHF for giving us guidance for this ride, and to Richard and Sue for their tireless work in putting it all together. There are too many people involved to thank individually, from marshals, the people who distributed leaflets and the raffle tickets. And of course Dennis and his little helpers from the RABI. I think the biggest thanks must go to all the riders who bothered to drag them selves out on a day like that. All the organising in the world wouldn’t be any good if nobody turned up. Despite the weather it turned out a very good event and well worth the effort. If you would like to see the photo’s for this event go to www.plymouthmcc.org

Marshals are needed to help out on these events, if you would like to help even an hour will do you don’t have to do the whole event, so come on and give us a hand. Meal tickets and training will be given. Contact Pete Batten 07501339103.

The setting for this event is idyllic situated right on the seafront, nothing better on a nice evening than walking along the seafront attacking a burger, brilliant. 21st June is the longest day sunrise run. If you’re an early riser (and I mean early) then this is the one for you, if your not an early riser then get yourself to bed an hour early and come along. After the ride its back to Goodbodys on Mutely Plain for a well deserved breakfast, and that I can assure you is well worth while. On 29th June Mark Cooper from M S C motorcycles is having a charity ride for the air ambulance. The last ride, that just happened to be the first, was an excellent turn out with dozens of bikes turning up.
