elcome existing and new club members, to your first
newsletter of the 2007 season. On behalf of the Club Chairman and Committee, I would like to wish you all a Safe and Happy New
Year!. As you know, the club’s AGM took place on the 8th of January, and as usual there have been some changes of personnel on the committee. I have now taken on the role of Editor of this newsletter , as well as Membership Secretary. During the meeting, it was decided by the members present, that the newsletter should be produced monthly throughout the summer, when there is more happening to report on, and then bimonthly during the winter. I will try my best to carry on the excellent work done by Mark Hull in the past — so bear with me for the first few issues! Also, don’t forget that this is your newsletter, so if there is anything that you would like to see included in it, or you have something to contribute yourself (printable that is) - please contact me, or you can use the suggestion forms available at the clubhouse — just ask. You’ll find a list of the names of your new committee members below and as soon as we sort out what is going to happen this season we’ll let you know . Meanwhile, for those of you with access to the net — our website is a good source of information.
www.plymouthmcc.org.uk If you have just got an e-mail address, or obtain one in the future, please allow us to send your newsletters by email, instead of snailmail! If you contact me at email@example.com, I’ll add you to the mailing list. Good Luck to all! - Here’s hoping for a successful year. Once again, thanks to all of last year’s committee for their dedication and hard work.
Group Ride Disclaimer. All riders taking part in club 'ride-outs' must remember that they are expected to be in total charge of their road legal motorcycles at all times, and that The Plymouth Motorcycle Club can not accept responsibility for any actions you may take, or any accidents that you are involved in. The Marshals are there for your safety - please respect them and keep an eye out for them in your rear view mirror. Please do not ride through the Novotel Car Parking area to get to the meeting point.. This year’s Celtic Rally takes place on Friday June 29th to Sunday July 1st 2007. Those of you regulars that have been before will know that to make sure you get a space on the ferry, you need to book it now!!! - or at least within the next few weeks. There are different ways of getting there, and different groups going at different times, so if any members want to advertise their plans— to get a group going — get the details to me for the newsletter or onto the club noticeboard.
As you know—PMCC support the Megaride every year by supplying marshals and helping with the organisation of the event. This year, we were asked to select 6 local charities to put forward, for the public to decide where the proceeds should go. THE MEGARIDE At the AGM ,the members were polled and the following 6 were voted for and will be submitted: CLIC, JEREMIAH’S JOURNEY, NEONATAL. ROYAL BRITISH LEGION, NCH,, ELISABETH SVENDSEN TRUST . Could we ask now, that as many of you who can volunteer to help, in any way, contact us and let us know. The event is internationally known, and our participation is crucial to it’s success. Contact Ritchard Bounds, or email to give your support. Thanks in anticipation For those of you with internet access Pete Batten has now started the Club Photo Album on our website, It’s massive and you can help fill it. If any of you have photographs from past club events CLUB PHOTO or raids for the last few years and you would like to get yourself seen and let others share your memories, stick them on a disc and hand it to a committee ALBUM member, we will get them to the webmaster. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have them on a computer or in digital form — let us borrow them,we scan them in, then return them to you.
MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL Well folks, it’s that time of the year again! Time to search down the side of the settee for the remnants of what fell out of the pockets during the post Christmas dinner snooze—the odd pound or so. ‘Cause if you haven’t renewed your membership yet — it runs out at the end of January. You can renew it at the next club meeting, or send your completed form with a cheque (NO CASH. PLEASE) to the address on the application form. If you don’t have a form, and you can’t get to a meet — ring me on 01752 492749, and I will send you one. If you are on the net , you can download it from the club website, or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks . Denis , Membership Secretary
