Around the State! GSNA District 6

Bibb County, Ingram Students are growing many items in our school gardens. We began 3 years ago with 3 beds at one school. This year we plant our 9th location with others still planned. Students have learned how to eat healthy and that they can garden at home.

Carroll County, Whitesburg Elementary School firemen ate lunch with the students during National School Week.

Grandparents Day in Jones County - Sept. 6, Gray and Turner Woods Elementary Schools. County Commission Chairman, Preston Hawkins; retired Gray Elementary School Principal, Cecil Patterson; Board of Education Chairman, Ginger Bailey; and Board of Education member Alfred Pitts helped serve breakfast and lunch.

Meriwether County - The cafeteria staff at Manchester High were presented with corsages in appreciation for their work during National School Lunch Week. Many thanks to Dr. Lehr, principal.

I Spy!! Cobb County - McCall Primary FS detective looking for healthy choices for national fruit and veggie month.

Douglas County SN hosted its annual family festival day where the SN program had a booth and wellness activities for patrons to enjoy and learn more about our program.

Bacon County, pictured are Linda Wright and National School Lunch Week Guest Local blueberry farmer Mr. David Lee. Mr. Lee came and shared the nutrition facts of blueberries with our students Bacon County Blueberry Capitol.
