Holiday Hint #1 Here Are Four Quick Checks To Make Before You Head Away On Holiday 1. Turn off you water at the mains: This will minimize any possibility of leaking water flooding your home. 2. Check washing machine hoses: Check for kinks or bulges because this can lead to bursting and water damage 3. Check your hot water service: A quick check can prevent the unit from rupturing while you are away. Check for small leaks. 4. Check braided hoses: These hoses connect water to your taps and toilets. Check for brown spots, kinks or fraying. Any of these signs could mean that the hose is about to burst and flood your home.

Holiday Hint #2 As we head into the holiday season, record number of DIY buffs are going to end up in hospital – don’t become another statistic. In Victoria alone there were 15 deaths and more than 2,000 serious injuries last year from people wanting to do-it-themselves. Those who are going to give DIY a go should avoid making the following mistakes: 1. It is illegal to touch gas: Federal law requires you to have a licensed plumber conduct any work on gas in your home and provide a Certificate of Compliance. 2. Digging pipes can be fatal: Burst pipes are common, but having a shovel and spare time doesn’t mean you should attempt this yourself. 3. Don’t be fooled by the array of plumbing goodies in major hardware stores: You don’t need to be licensed to buy them, but you certainly need a license to install most of them. 4. Y our insurance company won’t cough up: If something goes terribly wrong, and plumbing has been installed illegally, you’re going to be left out on a limb.

A little about our referral program

If you have appreciated our service during 2013, we would love it if you could refer us to your families and friends. It’s how we like to grow our business and believe that a word-of-mouth referral is our biggest compliment. When you refer us, here’s how we will thank you: Step 1: Refer us to friends, family, colleagues or neighbours Step 2: Your referral receives $50 off their bill Step 3: We donate $25 to one of three charities. Over the next three months the charity we will be making donations to is Feed Melbourne: Feed Melbourne raises funds to help charities collect, cook and distribute food to people who are doing it tough. More information can be found at http://www.feedmelbourne.org.au/ Over the past couple of months these charities have benefited from your referrals:

Rave reviews “Fantasic! If only all trades were as organized and efficient” A.Goldsborough

“Great at overall job and uncovered a potential disaster.” E. Allen

“On time me, excellent explaination of job. Speedy service whilst stillll being thorough.” B. Saturno – Brighton

“Our store managers are very happy. I also think the service is amazing and quality of the workmanship is also excellent. What I really like is the communication between myself and the plumbers that are onsite, they always call me when they are there and explain to me the issues and what they can do to resolve it. I look after 30 Max Brenner stores and I have to say PlumberAssist is the most professional company that I deal with.” Daniel Mashalany - Facilities Manager, Max Brenner

“I arrived home from a 2 week holiday in the late afternoon to find my house flooded. My main concerns when looking for a plumber are service, punctuality, skill, friendliness, price and cleanliness. With PlumberAssist there was no need to have any concerns. They took the time to explain the issue, which was a burst flexible water connector and explain the solutions. I would definitely recommend PlumberAssist for their good service and professional ability.” E. Cohen – Home Owner, Elsternwick
