PLU Kurt Mayer Chair in Holocaust Studies invites you to join us for a Book Talk December 5, 2013 at 7 p.m. in the Garfield Book Company, Fireside Room Featuring PLU Historian, Dr. Philip Nordquist discussing Dr. Christopher Browning’s book, Ordinary Men Christopher Browning holds the Frank Porter Graham Chair in History at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His iconic book, Ordinary Men: Reserve Police Battalion 101 and the Final Solution in Poland (Harper Collins, 1992), changed the way scholars understand who the killers were and made his name a household word in Holocaust Studies. Browning will participate as a key note speaker at the Powell-Heller Holocaust Education Conference March 12-14, 2014. Nordquist was a key member of the faculty when Browning was hired to teach at PLU in 1974. Nordquist remains a close personal friend, as well as professional colleague of Dr. Browning. Discounts on the book will be available.
