be a female PLU student.

have an interest in and a commitment to learning about Swedish culture through the Sankta Lucia event.  submit a 500 word essay addressing the prompt posted at scancenter or on the door of AUC 109.

 Applications and essays may be submitted in person or via campus mail by Oct. 23 to: SCC Director AUC 109.

 The scholarship recipient will be announced the evening of Friday, December 6, 2013, as

part of the Sankta Lucia celebration

New Study Away Course in Washington D.C.!

Led by P.L.U. President Dr. Krise ENGL 213: Management Lessons From Literature Spend J-Term 2014 in Washington D.C. exploring the intersection of literature and leadership while interacting with a variety of related guest speakers and lecturers. The program will be taught by Dr. Krise! Feature Visits: • Capitol Hill • The State Department • the Smithsonian Museums and More!

Program Cost: $3,500 Includes airfare, lodgings and program related transportation

“Management Lessons from Literature” This course offers students the opportunity to explore works by Sophocles, Shakespeare, Austen, and Machiavelli aimed towards lessons in leadership and management. Prominent leaders in Washington D.C. will guest lecutre for the class, touching on topics such as How does a leader co-opt subersion within his or her organization and get opponents to become enthusiastic teammates?
