Mrs. ·Charlie Reynolds was painfully injured Thursday when beaten over the head with a pistol by a robber in tk' Ranch Cafe al Yelm. The bandit made his escape. in a dark sedan car, laking $20 from the cafe till. Mrs. Reynolds was taken to an Olympia hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds are well known in .Parkland, where they opera1ed the Parkland Grill for some time. Since leaving Parkland, they have owned and operated the Ranch Cafe at Yelm

The Franklin Pierce recreation program is well under way Approximately 300 children have registered at the Parkland and Midland playgrounds dur· ing its first week of operation. With the help of volunteer workers, the playground leaders, Miss Diane Bassett and Henry Brown, are keeping the children active with various games, handcraft, story telling and musical projects.As a special event a talent show was held at 'the Parkland playground Saturday,. June 26. On Friday, July 12, a decorated on wheels parade with a "Fourth of July" theme, will be held at each playground. After a delicious dessert luncheon the meeting was called to order by the president, Mrs. Flannery_ Plans.were made for each member to make some article for the bazaar booth at the coming national convention of Grandmother clubs. As this was the final h1eeting of the year, it was de· cided to hold a picnic in August. The next regular meeting will be in September at t_ht~ home of Mrs. Madoche with Mrs. Schnelle as co-hostess.
