'Spanaway water is becoming a reality. At a hearing held in the office of the Pierce County commissioners on Sept. 28 Commisoioner Harry Sprinker made the recommendation. that led to the granting of the 25-yeai" pipe franchise to the Spanaway Water company. In Olympia on Oct. 4, the Washington State Hydraulics department issued a permit to the local Company authorizing them to proceed with the drilling of the 12-inch well; this work was start_cd on .Oct. 5 by the local firm of Richardson Well Drilling, low bidder for the construction of the well.

A pretty ceremony at the Bethesda Baptist church Friday evening, Sept. 24, un1ted Miss Barbara Jean Hanson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred William Hanson, and Sidney Duane HarUoff, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney James Hartloff. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white tulle over lace and satin and her .fingertip veil of tulle and lace was caught to ac ap trimmed with seed pearls. The bride's white orchid was surrounded by stephanotis. Attending the bride were Mrs. Eleanor Frost (Peterson), mat. ron of honor and Miss Beverly Mcrud, bridesmaid, wearing maize and pale green formals. Kermit H. Johnson was best man and C. Dale Frost ushered. Lighting the d'andelabra were Miss Sally Marie Hanson, sister of the bride, and Miss Ellen Pouise Johnson, niece of the bridegroom. Background music was played by Mrs. Zora Sorenson, organist. The mother of the bride chose an afternoon dress of turquoise crepe while the 'bridegroom's mother .wore a navy blue and white ensemble. Both mothers wore orchid cor· sages. The 25 wedding guests were received in the church parlors. Refreshments were served by Mrs. George Hanson, aunt of the bride; Mrs. Col'bein Jan· gard, cousing of the bride, and Mrs. Frank Heady and Mrs. Don Eyers For. their honeymoon trip to Oregon, the bride chose a turquoise knit suit with brown accessories, complemented with her white orchid corsage. The bride attended Lincoln high school and the bridegroom, Fife high school.
