Is my data safe on Pivotal?

Yes. Pivotal is a multi-tenant, cloud-based Software-As-A-Service, consisting of multiple tiers of application code and data storage providers. Utilizing a web-based client interface, Pivotal transmits all user data through the multiple tiers of the application using Transport Layer Security Protocol (the successor to Secure Socket Layers).

Authentication and authorization of users is handled through OAuth2, which ensures that all user access rights are properly enforced. Due to its nature as a multi-tenant application, Pivotal is designed to segregate the operational data of customers through the use of authorization sets that reside at the organizational and user level—allowing for data to be protected at the organization level and at the user level.
