After a 17-year career as the Penguins beat writer for the Washington Observer-Reporter, Bob Grove joined the team’s radio broadcasts in 1998 as a frequent studio host/co-host and is now in his seventh season as full-time host of the pre- and post-game broadcasts and intermissions on the Penguins Hockey Network. Grove wrote Pittsburgh Penguins: The Official History of the First 30 Years in 1997 and has contributed game notes to GOAL Magazine inserts or IceTime programs for every Pittsburgh home game since 1986. He was also a contributor to the second edition of Total Hockey and to The Game I’ll Never Forget. He is a senior writer covering hockey for the Pittsburgh Sports Report and also hosts Bob Grove’s Hot Stove on Penguins Radio 24/7.

STEVE KOLBE PENGUINS RADIO 24/7 HOST— PENGUINS RADIO NETWORK

Steve Kolbe enters his first season with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Kolbe spent 14 seasons (1997-2011) as the playby-play broadcaster for the Washington Capitals, broadcasting over 1100 games. His voice has been heard internationally on the NHL Network, XM Radio, NHL Radio, and ESPN. Kolbe broadcast the Stanley Cup Finals in 1998 and the NHL Winter Classic in 2011, and he was featured on the NHL Network’s documentary “Voices” in 2008. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Kolbe has over 25 years of broadcasting experience, and most recently has been a co-host of the Mid-Atlantic Sports Report on MASN (Mid Atlantic Sports Network) as well as talk show host for Major League Baseball coverage and NHL insider on CBS Radio 105.7 in Baltimore. Kolbe is a 1989 graduate of Michigan State University and earned a B.A. in telecommunications.
