Pitlochry Litter Action Group (part of Pitlochry in Bloom) Visitors come to Pitlochry in winter partly because it is an attractive place. Litter and dog poo on the streets do not give a good impression of our lovely town to the visitors so do join our friendly litterpicking team for the monthly clean-up. All equipment is provided including gloves and grabbers. Litterpicks take place on the second Tuesday of the month and we meet at 10.0am in the Recreation Ground carpark. The next litterpick is on January 8th. The dates for litterpicks in 2019 are as follows: February 12th,March 12th, April 9th, May 14th, June 11th, July 9th, August 13th, September 10th, October 8th, November 12th and December 10th. Pitlochry & District U3A U3A stands for University of the Third Age, a world-wide organisation for people who are no longer in full-time employment, with no lower age for membership. There are hundreds of U3As throughout the UK. Sometimes perhaps people are put off by the “U” part of U3A, thinking that there are formal classes; there are no classes, no teachers, and everything we learn or participate in is organised by ourselves. Don't be put off by the “3A” part; we are all older than we were but we have experience and skills that we’ve gained during our first and second ages, ready to share. For more information, get in touch with Meg Ross: megross@btinternet.com or 01796 483281. Continued on page 47 42 Pitlochry Life
